    Hello all,

I have a hankering to replay Gen 1, is there a rom hack that adds the following:

All pokemon are present somewhere in the wild (Mew, Starters, Version only pokemon, pokemon you can only get from the casino, etc.)
No required glitches to get certain Pokémon (Basically being more strict about what my first ask was)
All pokemon that only evolve through trading are evolvable without doing that
Maybe some other QoL improvements to types, and abilities

It would be great if someone had already done this! I dont mind if its a remake of Gen 1 in Gen 2, I just really dont care for Gen 3 art style so I dont really want a Gen 3 Rom Hack

    Thanks!

    How about:
    -PureRGB by Vortiene
    -Carmine Red by Wrulfy
-Remixed Red (or Blue) by Penny55gg
-Retyped Red (or Blue) by eshasunrise
    -Opti-Y by 212 Thug

Alternatively, you could look in the Sideshow Showcase section, and select the Red or Yellow prefix.

Thanks! I will look into these suggestions, Ill try to check out the Sideshow Showcase :)

Shin Red is probably what you want. New version coming out on Sept. 28th.

Ill check it out! Sounds like your the Author so thanks for stopping by to suggest your hack! I have a question, would gameshark cheat codes still work on your hack? I kinda want enough master balls to catch hard to get pokemon without having to save/ reset a bunch (Legendarys, Mewtwo, etc.)

I actually address this. In short, mostly yes.

Awesome thanks! Ill check out the github :)

Question, wheres the best resource to learn how to create GEN I hacks? Iv been trying to collect information but it seems that romhacks.net doesnt have a pokemon section, and the link to skeetendo is a hacked spamware link. There seems to be some skeetendo archive site but its deserted... I dont really want to make a hack from the ground up but I may want to make some modifications...

Skeetendo sadly was shuttered. It had very few regular posts near the end.

The main source for Pokémon gen 1 hacking is the pret/pokered project on github. It's the re-created source code for US red and blue. Be warned that it's all in assembly code and you have to compile the project yourself. But if you can learn both of those things, then you can basically do anything the GBC hardware will allow.

I know MIPS64 ASM and work in C all the time, I actually really really enjoy how literal ASM is so I'm not afraid of it. But if I wanted something simple (or I hope its simple) like adding 5 masters balls to the first PC in pallet down, or adding MEW to be a wild encounter in a specific area I just wanted to be able to do that without having to pour over a ton of documentation or code.

By the way, thank you so much for being so responsive!
