Gender Swap Machine!

I think a Gender Swap Machine would be very very useful but at the same time, I feel that's wrong you know? That breaks the challenge to try to find a Pokémon with the gender you want! I know it would be awesome for breeding and battling, but as I said it's wrong! For example, when you play a Pokémon Game your character is in a world full of Human and Pokémon ... both species have feelings! Do you think a Pokémon would like to swap its gender? I know that there are things that don't make sense like a giant Wailord in a little Pokéball but I still think that a Gender Swap Machine would not make any sense, and it would break the propose of the genders! I don't know ... maybe I'm strange thinking this way, but still, this is my opinion!

Being able to switch gender really defeats the whole purpose of the genders doesn't it? Part of the challenge for breeders is finding Pokémon of the correct gender, and adding the ability to swap back and forth would really break the system. :(
In all fairness you could argue that about abilities as well, and we got the option to change those. Given how complex and tedious IV breeding is, you're still putting a lot of effort into getting the right Pokemon... controlling gender just gives you a way of fixing that ONE otherwise perfect Pokemon.

For example, you want a shiny Vespiquen. There's only a 1/8 chance of breeding a FEMALE Combee, and only females can evolve. Now imagine if you went through all the effort of making sure the IV's and nature were correct... only to finally hatch a shiny version and it be... male. That means you have to do it all over again... possibly several times.

While I DO see your point... this would also help discourage Injecting/Hacking... meaning Pokemon could be legitimately special again. It's reached the point where most people don't consider shinies special anymore, because nobody believes they're real.

I haven't thought about this at all, haha. I completely agree, though; being able to freely switch our Pokémon's gender would break the system.

Although helpful it would also make the games even more less realistic and doesnt it kinda defeat the purpose of hunting for genders? And why have genders in the first place if you can switch them whenever you want?

You also cant really argue the same about abilities as we can change them from one to another we have to breed for HAs and trade for them aswell as the ability capsule will not switch a pokes ability to its hidden ability.

Not to mention if this mechanic is introduced, it's one another controversy for the Pokémon franchise! {XD}
