honestly, they all have their indelible, unquestionably amazing songs: like. I'm gonna pick one from every decade that I consider to be among my favorite things of all time.

60s: "California Dreamin'" by The Mamas & the Papas
70s: "September" by Earth, Wind, & Fire
80s: "Just Like Heaven" by The Cure
90s: "Say It Ain't So" by Weezer
    00s: "Hey Ya!" by OutKast
10s: "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen

the goodness never ends. I can't pick a decade.

i'd say i listen to '90s/'00s songs the most

i tend to like the production trends from those time periods the best, i don't really listen to music to 'feel' anything and i'm not gonna act like i'm not rather vapid about my music taste
if it sounds good then i'll listen to it

i'd say tlc & mariah exemplify best what i like about the '90s whereas '00s is a lot harder to pin to a few artists but a general cultural phenomenon
the shit with justin & britney producing 'cry me a river' being a good example

I'm going to have to mirror what maccrash has already said. There is a lot of great stuff from each and every decade.

Although if you demanded an an answer with a knife at my throat I'd probably say that the 90s wins it for me. Whilst the scene wasn't as big worldwide as it was here in the UK I absolute adore a couple of Britpop bands, Ocean Colour Scene and Pulp. Pearl Jam, The Cure, Cranberries, Radiohead and MJ and various other acts were arguably at their best in the 90s too. My current favourite artist is Elvis Costello and he was probably at the peak of his powers in the 70s and 80s as far as popularity goes so yeah, it's tough.

There hasn't been an awful lot of music in the charts I've loved in the last 15 years or so mind. From last year's top 40 albums there's only 1 I've listened to at all more than twice [Royal Blood's self titled album]. Stereophonics and Muse haven't been doing it for me recently but I did like them in the past.

Bah, when did the 80s ever get the label of 'golden' pop? >.>

Anyway, I most like pop from the 60s and 70s, which was a heck of a lot more than funk and disco.

I grew up in the mid to late 90s (was too young before that!) through the 00s, but I honestly don't have much music from the 90s. Just not a memorable decade for me. The early through mid 00s I did listen to a lot of pop music from the time. A lot of it has not stuck with me, but there are still a number of songs from the time I like and still listen to.

I straight-up do not care for pop beyond the mid-00s. It has become too much for me.

I want to keep an open mind. There is music I listen to from beyond the mid-00s (and the 80s, my most disliked decade), but I have very distinct tastes - a big reason I like music is instrumentation, and the 60s/70s were the time where the instrumentation was the best for me. The 80s where they went and ran too far with synthesizers, drum machines, etc., which I don't care for at all. And the modern pop scene... don't even get me started.

Do you even Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, Boyz 2 Men, Hanson, Moffats, or even Blue?

Sure, we 90s kids out there and here made fun of these guys back in their day for being so teeny bobby boo, but upon listening to the later generations of pop music, I find myself actually wanting to hear everything from Backstreet Boys, Hanson, Moffats, and whoever i mentioned in the first sentence.

My heart goes Bang Bang Boom.
