5th Gen Genesect: When will it be its turn?

    So now we know that Keldeo/Meloetta will eventually be released at some point - hopefully this year (obv discuss in the thread for it), how do you guys think Genesect will be released & announced? This meaning in terms of wifi, in-store, DW, and so on, the event which leads to its release (and if there will be any merchandise or special advertising) and most importantly, when it be released in general! Oh yeah and if you think it'll have special moves etc @ the event. ALSO WHY DO YOU THINK THEY'RE HOLDING BACK ON GENESECT instead of putting it in the upcoming movie like the other two?

    Discuss and speculate!! Use examples of past event-only Pokemon too if necessary!

    Honestly, I don't see Genesect being released for us in the conventional way....like Arceus and Darkrai. We'll get a Special Edition one at some point, but not a non-promotional one.
     
    I think they might do an in-store giveaway or something (if not Meloetta, then Genesect). I don't see them getting released over Dreamworld. Meloetta might be an in-game event or at least I hope. I'm thinking they'll release them by the end of the year or around the time the third game comes out.
     
    Like Mia said, end of this year. But which one is coming first or are they coming at same time? Who knows, anything can happen.
     
    Maybe Meloetta will be obtainable from spin-off game? Just like Jirachi and Manaphy.
    Genesect could appear in movie 16 and be revealed before this movie.
     
    Well if things go like the past gens. They will be revealed around 3-4 months before their movies, just like Keldeo.
     
    My guess is next year around this time. I can see Movie 16 being Genesect vs Meloetta seeing how almost every movie has featured more than one legendary at the least (only one I can think of that didn't was 3 with only Entei, 1- Mew, Mewtwo, 2- Leg. birds plus Lugia 4-Celebi, Suicune 5- Lati@s 6- Jiranchi, Groudon 7- Deoxys, Rayquaza 8-Mew, Regi trio 9- Manaphy, Kyogre 10- Palkia,Dialga, Darkrai 11-Giratina, Dialga, Regigigas,Shaymin12- Creation trio and Arceus 13- Beast trio and Celebi14- Zekrom/Reshiram and Victini) plus they are the only unova legends besides the Kami trio who haven't had a movie, and I doubt the Kami trio will have a movie (they had a special two episodes) like Raikou (before 13) and Cresilia before them.
    I can see Genesect having it's signature moves and a couple of beam based moves like Charge beam, Hyper beam, and Flash cannon. As for Meloetta, she or it...can have Ancient power, Sing, Quiver dance, and it's signature move...maybe.
    This is a bit off topic but have you noticed how each of the last pokemon (Mew and Celebi) have been in two movies, in their gen and the other in their remake gen...may we see Deoxys again in movie 17? What if Genosect is revealed in a movie featured fighting Deoxys?!
     
    Genesect could appear in movie 16 fighting with Tao Trio combined in new Kyurem's form if it's really not going to be revealed in this year. Also Meloetta could appear. That would be good movie for Gray's promotion, containing all Gray's unrevealed Pokemon.
    Gray's mascot name doesn't have to appear in movie's title (like Rayquaza), so it wouldn't matter if Kyurem would appear in movie 16 again.

    It would be Jirachi not deoxys. Both Mew and Celebi have base 600 and so does Jirachi. Plus it would feature a 6th gen Pokemon since both Mew and Celebi's 2nd movies had new Pokemon. I think Genesect would have an anime appearance only if they begin showing TP in it and they could do another TR vs TP.

    Yeah but Jiranchi is asleep...they'll have to recon movie 6...plus Mew, and Celebi are also the last pokemon in the dex like Deoxys.
    Anyways, I think it'll be a good idea to have Genosect fight the tao trio in the next movie, but considering it's place in the pokedex I'm guessing that Meloetta is going to be featured next. Come to think about it if they do release the two (Geno and Melo in Movie 16) it'll be the first time two specials have ever been released...well I guess it could happen after all Resh and Zek were the first pokemon revealed world wide simutaneously.
     
    With Genesect, what I can see is this. Genesect, like Keldeo, is a Pokemon who, from its Bulbapedia page, has a somewhat clear origin and purpose: it's a Pokemon that was revived by Team Plasma for their own manipulation, but the project was scrapped. I could see Genesect being the star of a movie centered around Team Plasma, specifically N, and the scientist who continued the project after N scrapped it. The scientist completes the resurrection and upgrade of Genesect, but Genesect goes out of control in Unova. Eventually, it ends when N is able to befriend and tame Genesect.

    Meloetta is different though. With Meloetta, I am drawing a complete blank as far as how it could be released. With Meloetta having such an unclear origin and role, I can't make any specualtion, really. Perhaps it will occur in a similar way to Jirachi. Jirachi's purpose seemed unclear until Wish Maker. Then, Jirachi was explained entirely, and released in a spinoff. This is something I could see happening with Meloetta, or perhaps being given away on WiFi rather than in a spinoff.

    Also, I find the fact that Meloetta's form changing through the use of Relic Song to be interesting. It's also rather interesting that Relic Song's form changes only apply in battle; it reverts to Aria Form after switching out or ending the battle. This could make for some interesting strategies if the player wants to use Meloetta for its physical strength and speed in Pirhouette Form, rahter than Special strength in Aria Form. Perhaps a Normal Gem-boosted Relic Song to change form, then Meloetta becomes a powerful physical sweeper that is very difficult to outrun. Of course, Meloetta also would work as a special sweeper or special wall with its stats. All in all, Meloetta seems to be a very versatile Pokemon competitively that I'd love to try out. /Hoping it doesn't end up in Uber.

    They can make it into another Jiranchi. The Mew and Celebi they encounter in the movies are different Mews and Celebis. Deoxys was also introduced in Fire Red/ Leaf Green, not Ruby/Sapphire so there'd be no sense in Deoxys being the main Pokemon for it.

    They have pretty much written Team Plazma out of the Anime after the cancellation of the only two episodes introducing them. Wouldn't make sense for them to appear in a movie when they most likely won't appear in the Anime anymore.
     
    Well this is what Bulbapedia has on Meloetta's backstory:
    Meloetta once played a song and danced so lightly, it filled people's hearts with joy. However, when sorrow darkened the world, Meloetta lost the melody. At the same time, its red shoes were lost somewhere.
    Upon entering the cafe in Castelia City, a guitarist, who knows of the story, remembers Meloetta's melody. Upon playing it, Meloetta remembers the song that it had danced to.

    They could feature it in a Movie where the bad guy causes people to suffer, or maybe they need Meloetta to restore the order of joy by teaching it it's song.

    I wonder what Tier Genosect will have...I can see it in Over Used or Uber.
     
    I think Meloetta and Genesect will be released in the same way as Shaymin and Arceus in Gen IV (Meloetta will appear in some secret location in Unova while Genesect will be a Mystery Gift event).
     
    If so I hope they release Meleotta's hidden place in the third version and actually do the event and not let it be another Arceus where they don't release the item needed...
    Come to think about it Genosect might not be released until near the end of the generation like Arceus was...which will be according to previous pattern's will be around 2014 or even 2015...(I'm guessing gem vi will start in 2015 or 2016 in this scenerio)

    Just because they are out of the anime, doesn't mean they wouldn't be in the movies. While it would be stupid to have them just feature in a movie.. it can happen. They can easily be introduced as the "bad guys" of the movie. Plus we don't really know whats going on with them in the anime... if they are actually being scrapped or just being pushed back.

    Thinking about it now.. I would prefer if Meloetta was promoted through a spin-off game. Have both Genesect and Meloetta feature in the 15th movie.. Genesect being the bad guy - Plasma caused it to go haywire and want to destroy everything. Plasma decides to steal Meloetta in order for it to sing it's Relic song and calm Genesect down, in order to then control Genesect.
     
    Yeah Genesect will be at the end imo too @ MRAS, like considering it's meant to be the badass bug creature, of course you'd wait until the end to reveal it. And on that note Volcarona should've been an event legendary too BUT WHATEVER.
     
    I'm guessing at least one will be given away in a Wifi Event, and the other probably for the next movie, if and when they decide to make one. If I had to guess, Genesect would be better in a movie than Meloetta. I'd rather go for a Genesect, anyways. XD
     
    I think that Meloetta will be revealed to the public sometime in the summer. It'll be revealed in the next movie as the star of it. After that will follow an event.

    As for Ganesect? I'd say it'll be revealed to the public sometime next year in an event rather than a movie. Or perhaps in 2014. It would be better to reveal it later in Generation V is you ask me.
