if you dont believe in ghosts than you will die in vain. the reason why is because there are 3 gods in one which is called the trinity, god the god, god the son, and god the holy ghost.

...ok... so what you're saying is that Christianity is polytheistic religion?

I'll probably die in vain anyways, trying to go out saving the world or make it better or something... maybe ala ghostbusters...

ugh, I would take the time to properly instruct you on Christian theology, but instead I'll mention that you shouldn't squash religion down other's throats here.

And I don't believe in ghosts.

Yeah, i believe them. I took a photo from one. I was in a pitch-black cave, seeing some rocks and water. And we entered a small room. At the bottom, a white light, It was small. We came more close and, OMG! We simply ran way. Me and one friend took a photo of him, far away, but my mobile has a lot of zoom. I can show the picture if you want.
My television going on and off while I was in the bed really spooked me too. My door at night opens a lot of times, and I feel a lot of cold winds. My parents don't believe me. D:<

KK I'm gonna 'die in vain'. Good evidence and argument you babbled there.

I don't get it... Why is that when people do say they've 'seen a ghost' they always leg it? If I saw a ghost (which is massively unlikely since they don't exist), I'd try to get some decent evidence of it and get a better understanding of it. Running away is such a cliched thing to do.. and totally makes any experience less reliable- since you're not thinking rationally and wasting the chance to get some good proof. I mean what's the worst a ghost could do? O_o
Yayaya, a pic would be fun.. though I could probably do some tricks and debunk it ^^

Yeah, I do believe in ghosts. A couple of years ago, me and my friends were stupid enough to do a séance. We didn't know who to call, I said we should do Elvis or some relative of someone, but someone else said Laura Peterson, who was a lady that had just recently been found in a freezer...with her head cut off. So, it was 12AM and we were in the upstairs part of my friends house, calling the spirit. Right when we asked for a sign of her presence, we heard a two thuds on the roof. I remember it as clear as day o.o; Me and my friends freaked, quickly unlit everything, and called it away. We all thought that maybe it was from downstairs. But then two seconds later, her mom was like, "What are you all moving upstairs?! You better not be throwing any chairs!" Then we flipped out. No one slept that night @_@

There are natural explanations for all of those events. Cameras produce odd light effects all the time, and your TV might have been malfunctioning. If your door kept opening, and you felt winds, I'd make sure to shut all the windows in your house.;)

It was in a cavern, not a cave, sorry. The Mira'd'Aire Caverbn, very well known here in Portugal. It wasn't in my house. I felt cold winds and noises.

They are real. My dad even proves it. He can talk with them.

I think that would be classified as schizophrenia.

Anyways, no I don't believe in ghosts. Scientifically impossible. All energy in us, when we die, comes out in some way; usually with twithces, or farts, and other gas leaving our body. So the energy debate goes out the window.

Although, there was this one time...

A friend and I were walking around the music building at my college late one night, after I played piano for a while. We were on the third floor, about to walk down the stairs, when I thought I heard what sounded like a young girl crying out, very softly. I thought nothing of it until I went to my friend, "Did you hear that?" and he agreed. And when I asked what it sounded like, he said, "A little girl." That kind of scared me a bit, and when I yelled out, "Is anyone here?", there was no answer. But all rational logic moves me away from the idea of ghosts.

Well, I am a strong believer in ghosts, but once again not in the stupid sheet with the holes cut out crap. One thing I knwo for a fact is that matter never disappears, just gets reformed. So why not the human soul? It matters to me! Ok enough of this silliness.

But me not being a jester here, ghosts have4 got a LOT of propaganda around them, and Im not much for like haunted houses. I mean, is a spirit is on the earth, then yes, it will probably stick around a place its familiar to, but having a sighting at the exact same spot all the time is just stupid. I mean, its a person, not a stupid parlor trick. And ghosts hucking stuff across rooms and rattling doors and stuff for me is a no go. If its an evil ghost, it will probably try something WAY freakier than throwing a lamp at your head.

And I have had two related cases of seeing a ghost, one of them was most probably a dream, the other Im not so sure about. Well, Im canadian, and from when I was 5-7 i lived on this island called Newfoundland, which is like this sad rock with 500 000 people living on it. And we lived in this old house that looked kind of Victoriany. And one night, I woke up, and there was what seemed to be a ghost in my room. It was, sadly, which is why I think this was a dream, a white lady pretty much. Well, she was wearing a white dress, and was all white, etc etc. She was standing on the side of my bed, then smiled and nodded at me, then left through the window, which was closed. Ok so yeah, probably a dream. But MAn I was freaked.

The other time was actually kind of ijn a funny spot, which is what makes me believe it was a true sighting the most. I was walking down the sidewalk of this crowdeds strip mall place, and there was a bunch of flowers by a lightpost and were there because a woman had been hit by a bike there early one morning and had died. So walking along, 1:00 in the afternoon, and I see a woman in a bicycle helmet smelling the flowers and smiling, and then I blinked, and she was gone.

Ok, those are REALLY corny, but both true.

One thing I knwo for a fact iAs that matter never disappears, just gets reformed. So why not the human soul? It matters to me! Ok enough of this silliness.

If you ask any decent teacher- they'll say that the system that decides how we live, think and have emotions is our CNS (brain and spine)...
so what would a soul be for? where and what is a soul? is it an invisible blue aura that floats in our chest? If it actually existed how come it can't be seen? wouldn't there be zillions of souls floating about then?
A soul is just another thing of belief and clearly something that people wrongly use as 'evidence'.

Also, even if ghosts did exist, how the hell would they have clothes? let alone a biking helmet. Clothes are hardly spiritual. Can't they be naked or look like blobs of light? Do they get to keep their same hairdo as well? or do they look the same as how they die? O_o

Yeah... any 'true' ghost story always has a load of flaws in. -_-

I have to say I believe in ghosts. I have for a very long time. But there is nothing that can sway me since there is no proof that they do exist. But you do know that there is no proof that they don't exist. So its a double sided argument and is more opinion then fact

Also with the question of a Soul. Souls are more your consciousness and your true identity. They don't exist in a physical sense but more in a spiritual sense.

I think that ghosts appear in whatever way they want to appear. Now that they aren't in bodies anymore then can manipulate what their appearance is

There's no proof the Flying Spaghetti Monster doesn't exist.... as a result I totally believe in that.

Kidding obviously- and that's just a silly argument.. but there are logical and rational reasons why ghosts wouldn't exist. If something did exist..why wouldn't there be proof? O_o

This post reminds me alot about this post:

And I think you're very arrogant to come in here and say "Oh my, you're wrong and I'm right". All Sea_Guardian said is she doesn't believe in aliens because the Bible says nothing about them going around (the base of the Christian religion). So why not just take it at that and think "I respect that you don't believe in aliens, but I see it a different way" (truthfully, I don't agree the way Ausaudriel worded his post in reply to Queen Boo)? Would that have been so hard? But you come in here and go "OMG you're wrong, here's "facts" so there, I'm right." (and really, if given enough time I could shoot evolution full of holes. If you say evolution is the truth then I can show a few things that counters that. But that's another topic). That's why I hate topics like this, people can't just post saying "Well, this is the way I see things" and then leave it at that. Someone just has to come along and reply to one person saying "OMG You're wrong!" and then it snowballs from there.

She said she believes, gave her reasoning why. If someone believes in a "flying spagetti monster" as the forms of ghost, well, make sure you prove em' wrong first. No one is allowed to say "I believe, these are my reasons" anymore--they must follow a standard of "reasonable thinking".

Regardless, no, I don't think they exist. Although I'd love to know what happens when we die. I know it's nonsense, but I can't help but shudder when I walk down the street at night.

I understand that. But in some cases life wouldn't be that interesting if we didn't believe in anything

Anyway even though I slightly believe in ghosts i'd rather push for Reincarnation. Since it seems much more tempting and worth while then floating around time and space for eternity.
