    Im know you guys are like super pissed off by this thread.
    Im sure those guys are a bunch of losers who dont really have any life...

    Could ya give just one reason to NOT like pokemon? And why?

    To me, some kids dont really like pokemon because of its weird names... I mean Probopass? Sheesh, theres just got to be a better name...

    Well, any smart member would have been able to realise that they were trolls, and that the smartest thing to do would be to ignore them, otherwise you're feeding them, which is what they want. The thread's starting post was quality trollsmanship, I have to admit, but after that it just feel apart. I'm sort of worried about the replies of some people and the fact that they took it so seriously though.

    Could ya give just one reason to NOT like pokemon? And why?

    Bidoof. It's a horrible Pokémon, it wrecked up Diamond and Pearl, it appeared everywhere, it's cute looks make you want to punch it in the face.

    I think I've said enough.

    Ugh, I agree. I mean.. "Bidoof"? *Shudder*
    Some of the new Pokemon just irk me. They don't seem to fit in with the rest. I started thinking this after R/S/E came out.
     
    People assume that it's for kids because they are ignorant. The 4-Kidz anime is making Pokemon look bad IMO. But that's still no reason to hate it. Check out the conversation between me and DarkAkuma here. I have no clue why the order of the messages are so messed up. Just read it you'll get the gist of it ^^

    Oh, I tried to break up the fight going on in that troll thread but it didn't work. I just got insulted ^_^

    Well, how is 4-kidz anime making pokemon look bad? in what way?
     
    I personally very much enjoy the manga and the games, but the anime? PLZ.... I think it's one of the biggest factors that U.S. STOPPED SELLING POKEMON MANGA.

    They take out the more serious undertones that the original Japanese anime had, not to mention the terrible voice acting in the English version :/ . But that's just my opinion...

    No, fade101, it was not a 'good job'. DarkAkuma and Skii should have ignored the trolls, like a sensible poster would. I can understand it when people do respond to trolls, I've done it myself on other forums, you feel that if no one else is going to, you should stick up for what you like, but trust me, what they did is not something that should get them respect. I appreciate the fact that they felt the insults strongly and all that but it's like drugs, the best thing to do it walk away and tell someone who can actually do something. In this case it was Archuleta Shuckle or any of the higher staff.

    But enough of lecturing, what else do I hate about Pokémon? The trio of starters. I dislike how it's always Grass, Fire and Water. Can you not give it a change for once? Dark, Fighting and Psychic would be an interesting choice of starters.

    Actually, the thing is that the Fire/Grass/Water starter triangle is always chosen because aside from Fire/Grass/Water, there is only one other "perfect triangle" of types with each member resistant to the attacks of one member and weak to the attacks of the other- Flying/Fighting/Rock, if I'm not mistaken. Dark/Psychic/Fighting doesn't form a perfect triangle because dark is immune to psychic, not resistant. Also, it's tradition. It's like how in Final Fantasy, there's always some way to ride a chocobo, and you can always avoid monsters by riding it- it's one of the game's constants. It's a way to remind you that, yes, this is Pokemon and it is designed by the same guys. Really, I don't see the problem.

    Only reason to hate Pokemon? The anime hasn't ended yet. We need a new series, not just a "New Adventure, As Satoshi Heads Out Into the Unknown That All The Gamers Actually Know!". Or at least, a series that acknowledges that some of the original fans are a bit older now and deserve a series that's a bit more serious in tone than even the Japanese version of the anime. Like, one that actually gives more attention to the backstory and personality of its characters, for instance. But really, so far we've only listed the things we hate about Pokemon. Nobody's listed a reason to go to war against the franchise. XD
     
    Well I would have to say the anime... at least for me. The anime was great up until the new voices, and now its just kind of... eww...

    But still Pokemon is a huge fandom, there is bound to be something to interest everybody.
     
    Here's why I hated Pokemon for a good while: the anime. It fills me with such rage...

    Seriously, if the anime were a fanfic, it wouldn't last a minute. The characters are dull and frequently recycled in later seasons, and the show itself is essentially an advertisement. An anime that's based on a video game or card game franchise can only be good if it's interesting and complex enough to be viewed as a good show in its own right. The Pokemon anime does not fall into that category.

    Pokemon is essentially the opposite of Digimon. Pokemon is an example of an amazing game that was tainted by a terrible cartoon, while Digimon is an example of a terrible game that was redeemed by an amazing cartoon.

    Well you have to keep in mind that the anime is targeted at a young age group, it is simply meant to entertain. The reason that characters are recycled is because the audience is recycled. Most kids get older and they lose there interest in the series, but new kids are born and become hooked. Sure, someone older then 11 or 12 would be repulsed by the anime if that was their first experience with Pokemon, but it isn't like the anime is doing anything wrong.
     
    Ash?! Oh god, the anime would be so much better without that idiot! I mean, who's stupid enough not to recognize Team Rocket when their "In Disguise". Put glasses on someone, and there is no way Ash will recognize them....
    Put I guess all the characters in the anime are like that. The writers need to give Ash & the gang a better IQ.

    Another thing I can think of is how much money I've spend on Pokemon. Atleast $300 this year so far, just on the TCG.

    One thing I dislike about Pokemon is how it's so strongly geared toward younger children. I mean, sure, that's their main audience, but it just seems to be getting more and more... kiddy. And I doubt it's just me getting older, either. You know they're trying to please the uber-obsessed nine-year-olds when they fill the back of the Pokedex with fifteen or so legendaries (half of which looking like robots, digimon, or -coughheatrancough- pieces of poo). They seem to also be running low on ideas... None of this is reason for me to hate Pokemon, but it's really starting to annoy me...
