Giving away a free layout

YOU DON*T HAVE A SITE! I'm not giving you the layout just because you want it. You need to already have a site...

And STaLIS, Although knowing PHp and HTML is good, Java/script might nt be as good. The point to Simplicity is to make it simple enough for everyone to enjoy it. And Many people have Java/script disabled on their computers (Talk to SA), which means it's useless to them. And although colored scrollbars might seem cool, they're often concidered "Amature", which is why I don't use them. But CSS does MUCH (Much) more then just color your scrollbars :P. And you need to learn that, because the whole layout is coded with Stylesheets (Css).
And I have looked through the coding of your site, and much of it isn't valid HTML. Among other things you don't have quotes around some attributes. You got unclosed tags, and you put your style info on the page itself instead of in a CSS file.

But no worries. If you win I'll show you the ropes ;)

P.S. Looking at your layout I don't see any good reasons to why you're using frames o_O?
 
No, I don't have A site - I have several. I hold KyleTech, kForums, Just Pichu, and the Team Rocket Banner Exchange.
 
Do I have unclosed tags. Didn't know that...

Also I know CSS. I just usually can't be bothered with it. Too long to achieve anything. Though you can get some good effects ;-)

Too long?... What are you talking about? How can you say it's harder to use CSS when it 50% easier to watch simple settings in one file compared to a **** load of Tables in another?
CSS is so much easier since it basically like making settings for each component.


P.S. Leo, I haven't chosen any. I'm still evaluating the ones that requested, and I can still accept a few more requests.
 
Ok, i suppose you are right. I could make more use of CSS though it isn't my strongpoint.

My site uses frames for a good reason. Simple editing on the staffs point. Because if you look at home.html (the right frame) it is so easy to modify. All you have to do is create a new table and info/roms is added
 
CSS does help with a site, but its not everything. If you know the correct coding you will not have to use alot of CSS.

Also, Pokemonroms.tk :s.. I don't think that is a site you should have. Chances are you can be sued by Nintendo as they are illegal. Its not a very safe site to have. And with the IP tracking to go to Pokemon Roms. You acutally need to have permission to do that. I had to go threw this on my site b4 i could do anything.

My site has been shut down 67 times in 4 years. I'm not afraid of Nintendo. It isn't Nintendo that shuts it down, it's hackers from warez sites whenever I tell them they can't link directly to the Roms. I used to host all the episodes as well. But that is illegal. Nintendo sent me an email asking me to remove the episodes but I can keep the Roms as long as I state that You may only keep them for 24 hours unless you own the actual cartridge or have proof you bought the game.

I would also like to state on behalf of all the staff and me at PokeMonRoms that we do not tolerate any illegal activities in my country. In my country [Ireland] it is legal to have Roms for 30 days as evaluation purposes before you buy the game. We don't care if it's illegal in the US because that's nothing to do with us. If they get themselves into trouble it's their fault for going to my site in the first place.

My site and staff have co-operated fully and understandingly with Nintendo over the years and have alterred our content accordingly ;-)

So I would like you to know that the controversy that surrounds Roms sites is wrong unless they exploit illegal activitys. I know there are a lot of Rom sites that do these days but I don't. I think PokemonRoms.tk is one of the last remaining honest sites that doesn't force vote, have warez, p o r n etc....

I hope you agree with this.

And one last note. If you're here to slag me off for the website I own then I want nothing to do with you nor do I wish to speak to you.

I don't mind talk about roms, but if i see you promoting your site in anyway, i will not hesitate to talk to the higher Staff at getting your sig taken off and links removed.

I don't have a problem with people posting sites, its when people post illegal content and promote rom/porn/hentai/illegal sites of there own or of others.

I don't want to make an enemy of you Simone. So I think I will stop posting in this thread, remove my website from my signature and forget about this.
The fact that my site has been shut down 67 times does shows me that I need to introduce some higher security.
If you read the last post you would see that it was warez and/or porn sites that shut it down. It hasn't been shut down for 4 months because both the sites that were hacking my site are now defunct.
I and the staff have always had a very fruitful relationship with Nintendo, and I choose my wording carefully here, I have NEVER been shut down by Nintendo or a Government agency.

So I think I may as well step down and admit defeat now before I end up getting booted out.

So, I'm sorry Simone and I hope you can forgive me. *runs to change sig* :'(

And I suppose you know the correct coding? lol... CSS was created so that you don't have to do all that "Correct Coding" as you call it, which means CSS is (maybe not everything), But a LOT.
Although looking through your site I don't see why you're talking about correct coding :P... You got a css file but you still have style info in your index for some strange reason :P
And you're using "  • " instead of a simple list tag XD. You also have unclosed tags, both br and img. And you're using a "height" attribute on a table...

STaLIS, Are you closing your site? and if so are you out of the running for the Layout?
 
Yeah Gecko, I've dropped out. It was either I delete my site or I get booted of PC. But I could use it for my new site. My new site I'm going to display my pokemon art.

Or I don't think you should give it necessarily to the best site. Possibly give it to a site that really needs a facelift or one that could improve. I hope I don't sound rude here.

My situation with Simone has been resolved (thankfully)

Also, maybe you don't need to be such a perfectionist. Every site has a few unclosed tags here and there. Check out microsoft. Even they havn't closed an img tag on their home page. Maybe even your site in all its splendour and glory has a few missing tags?
 
Erm, please don't give the layout to Imakusi? He makes a new website every day!!!
