As far as first episode goes. Glasslip is okay.

Animation is smooth and vibrant. The characters seem fine as all of them seem to be likable so far. That is until the end of the first episode hinted at a love square thing, so I'm guessing one of the characters is going to act like a massive jerk later, I dunno. I can't really comment on the sound since I wasn't really paying attention lol.

Plot is decent...? I mean, I don't know where Glasslip is going but I have a feeling that "Her dream is to become a glass artisan" will not be a focus for the series. A couple of things haven't been answered in the first episode either. So, I'm interested in the series for now. I'm curious on the past of Okikura and why he acts, for the lack of a better word, weird. But like I said before, I'm not looking forward to the impending love square situation that may happen.

I got a lot of Toradora vibes from the first episode, but I have no idea whether the series is going to go into a dramatic direction, a heartwarming direction, or something entirely different. The animation was pretty well done, though, and the fireworks in the episode looked very impressive.

Never watched Toradora, so I can't share your sentiments there. But, at the very least I hope Glasslip doesn't go off and pull a Robotic;Notes. For clarification, Robotic;Notes didn't have a clear direction in which the series wanted to go, so it led to a rather messy and inconsistent anime.

Oh, forgot to mention this. Despite being done by another animation studio, I'm seeing a little bit of Anohana in the character designs. Not a lot, but just slightly.

Glasslip... honestly, not what I expected. I'll really be shocked if it ended up to be a lot more dramatic than the slice-of-life I expected. I mean, the synopsis is pretty short, so when I first knew about it I piled it with the other slice-of-life anime I knew.

It's funny, 'cause I'm seeing the same thing as you.

    P. A. Works... that's all I need to know.

It's a slice of life P.A. Works series, so naturally I was drawn to it. Frankly, the first episode didn't have the appeal that the first episode of Tari Tari had, but it's still early on so I'll be sticking with it for now. After all, the choices for good series this season are slim...

This is giving me a lot of Nagi no Asukara feels.

Except there's like no direction. Even less than Mekakucity Actors had lol.

    Spoiler:

Episode 3 was pretty good, I definitely wish they had delved a little more into the "seeing the future in glass" thing, but I guess they're still building to that.

I also found this online, which might help people confused by the relationships in the show:

(Honestly I consider the Touko/Kakeru thing to be mutual, but who knows at this point.)

After Uchouten Kazoku and Nagi no Asukara it is safe to say I was expecting a hell of a lot more than this mess. My predictions about this were sadly well off the mark. Dropped.

In regard to Yuoaman's earlier comment, the payoff might have to be huge the way this is going. 4 episodes into a 13 episode show, there is still no real use of the whole see into the future thing. It might have been better if they had just made this a plotless slice of life so I could just relax and enjoy the art rather than wonder why the plot still hasn't been expanded upon at all.

Ugh. What is happening this year? SO many unfortunate disappointments. I had some hope for Glasslip, but it let me down just like RailWars and Black Bullet. Well only one episode left.
