Hey guys, so usually I lurk around the Roleplay Corner, but today I've decided to venture out and see what wonderful people I can meet! Around the RP Corner, I'm known as Ichiro, but my real name is Declan. I'm currently in my third and final year of University, studying a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Japanese and Chinese. I've been learning Japanese for eight years now, Chinese for three, as well as a trimester of Spanish and soon to be Summer School Latin. I realised my affinity for learning languages when I finished High School, moving on to study in University. I originally had planned to go into Law.

I live in Wellington, New Zealand, a small corner of the world and work in the gourmet food section of a department store. I also aid Pokejungle with leaks and the occasional article, having helped since Black and White. My goal for this year is to get into the JET program and head off to Japan to teach English as an assistant language teacher. Ultimately, I don't know what I want to achieve, I guess working in the UN would be pretty sweet as, but it's just one step at a time for the moment.

Like I said, I mostly lurk around the RP Corner, working on my co-joint RP with the Mod, Skymin, called Atlantis Awakening. I enjoy writing and crafting stories, preferring extended fiction and would one day like to publish my own novel or write my own TV series. I think script writing TV series would be amazing! When I have time to myself, I enjoy playing RPGs, or mucking around talking to friends on Skype. Currently I'm meant to be writing a speech due in 7 days in Chinese, but procrastinating magnificently on it. XD

What does your username translate to? What's "Ichiro"? Are you actually of Japanese descent or are you just interested in it? Why Chinese and Japanese as opposed to any other languages?

So 'Raikage' translates to "Thunder Shadow", which is a title held by a character in Naruto. I liked the idea of the title back when I was still wild interested in it and adopted it as part of my username. 'Ichiro' is a common Japanese first name used to name the eldest son among siblings.

Not of Japanese descent, but I have been learning Japanese for eight years now. Japanese only came about as course clashes in my first year of High School and for me, it was the only language I could fit into my timetable (All the people in my stream had to take a language). So I started it, grew wildly interested, even went to Japan to study for a bit, then when it came to University I thought; "Hey, I've spent 5 years learning Japanese. Chinese can't be too hard!".

It certainly has!

Hands down is Atlantis Awakening which I am currently Co-GMing with Skymin. She's helped me to expand so much on it and brought a whole other side to it to life. Without her, I doubt it would have gone far, but yeah, Awakening hands down.

Very much so. We all miss you, Red.

Why the hard question after all these easy ones? Well, it counts as both a weakness and strength, but I tend to put people in front of myself, even if it means I'm the one who's put out of place. For example, the other day a lady behind me was late and stuck in line, so I let her go ahead of me, and ended up being late, but it didn't really phase me.

What are you gonna write about for Chinese? :P

I did my speech two days ago, it was on my Taiwanese workmate. I was tempted to do a similar existential one like I did for Japanese, but it just got too hard in the end.
