    [PokeCommunity.com] Golf Minigame?


    This golf course seems to be in a resort-style area and I feel that Game Freak wouldn't put this in the game simply for aesthetics. So what do you guys think this course will be used for in the games? Perhaps an awesome minigame or maybe even hosting some battles?

    Of course it's all just speculation at this point but I think this could be a really cool addition to the games :)
     
    That would actually be pretty cool! It definitely resembles some sort of golf course, so perhaps it could well be some sort of minigame or similar to the stadiums in Black & White where you battled trainers.
     
    I could see this being this region's "contest" if pokemon attacks are used to drive the ball.

    Golf as the new sidequest? It would be a good use of that field but I don't know how it would be executed in a Pokemon game like this.

    I'm just wondering what Pokemon they could use for this potential minigame to fit in with the golf theme...
     
    What if we get new pokemons that looks like Golf Balls and a new trainer type named Golfer.

    I wasn't that good at the Pokeathlon so I don't really have hopes to see that coming back, or any other sport-based Pokemon sidequest. Even the Musicals in Unova satisfied me more than the Pokeathlon, but you know Game Freak can do anything such as how Kalos never had such a sidequest like most regions had.
     
    I don't think it will be a minigame, however, I do think this might be a battle hub post game. It just looks like a place where you would battle trainers.

    Inside could be the food course battles, Similar to the Cafes and the Restaurant in Kalos and ORAS Hoenn. The Golf Course could be a new battle stadium like place similar to the Sport Stadiums in Nimbasa City. And the beach could just be a lot of different trainers.

    That was the other possibility I was thinking of, as a place similar to the Battle Chateau and other locations where you could rematch trainers. Battle Chateau was a good place to train so having a similar facility in Alola will help if you're someone who wants to gain levels quickly.

    I think this is a great idea, the resort would offer several different settings for the battles taking place and I would just love to go up against a trainer on a golf course :)
     
    I don't think it'll be a golf mini game, but maybe an area where you meet a Legendary or go there to learn/collect something about Alola's lore. Something like Mt. Pyre :3

    It also reminds me of the strip of land you needed to across to get Shaymin in the Shaymin Event in DPP except without flowers

    I didn't mean the actual battle facility, but that is possible. When I said battle hub, I mean rematches similar to the cafes in Kalos and the Stadiums in Nimbasa. I still think the actual battle facility is on an island we do not see yet. :D

    The golf course area would be a training area, where you can challenge different trainers each day. It could also be a unique route. But we need more info first.
     
    I wonder if that's for a gym leader? Maybe a Golfer-themed leader with what, Grass or Steel types?

    It does seem likes awfully big space for just a gym, but then again, in XY we had an entire mountain for the Rock type leader
     
    God, I hope not. I'm all for unique mini-games to take away form the main action, but I feel like a golf mini game is just way too out of place. I'd certainly prefer this to be an area just to explore, rather than a place to play golf...
