Firstly, I would like to mention that English isn't my first language, so I do want to apologize in advance in case I end up using wrong semantics or terms. I joined the community today, though I've seen it before to check romhack reviews. I had contact with the franchise several times throughout my life, though I didn't develop a particular interest in those occasions. The first time I actually developed some real interest was one time I received a snivy toy in a happy meal my mother bought for me. That same day, I saw the episode where ash captures snivy and the way she avoided capture during the episode and the species' design made it my favorite Pokémon at the time and made me more interested in the anime ( I wasn't actually aware of the fact that the franchise was centered around the games, and I was very disconnected from the internet, so the anime was the main product for me).

Years later, I discovered emulators and began investigating the best games in the Game Boy Advance, which resulted in me playing Pokémon Emerald (in which I chose treeko as the starter, because it was the closest I had to snivy). I didn't get into the franchise again until years later, when a friend of mine reintroduced me to it. It was here that I really fell in love with the concept and various other aspects of the franchise. Since then, I have played many romhacks, games on the switch, I've read fanfics and began interacting more with the community.

Thank you, and it is ok to ask, my first language is Spanish. I didn't have any store to rent the movies, but a tv chain in my country had the rights to show movies from hoenn to kalos.

Snivy's line is great indeed. Serperior is one of my favourite Pokémon!

If you are into the anime, you might want to check the related section's discussions. Besides ROM hacks, have you also tried fan games ? There are some great ones I could recommend! See you on the forums!

Ok! I can suggest Zeta / Omicron, Solar Light - Lunar Dark, Insurgence (the best one all around in my opinion). And, if you are into top level battles and hairpulling puzzles, there is Reborn!

Thank you, I have the word semantics very present because it's the main thing I'm trying to fix in my English, if it wasn't for that I would probably not use it very often either. I tend to choose snivy as the starter in almost every romhack if available, but aside from that I'm more split between the grass and the fire starters, with a few exeptions where I go with the water type.
