I've read the comic and the browser is coming along great. It'll probably be my default browser once the finished product comes out (and I fix my Windows XP) :P
I like it so far. Faster than any other browser I have used. A little slow with pictures, but overall it is a great program so far. It even opens faster that Firefox.
I'm not used to the lack of clutter, nor the lack of a tool bar. It's a little too empty for me...not having all my options right there at the top is annoying. And it doesn't have many customization options, as was said before. Eh...I think I'll pass for now. *hugs firefox*
I hate the position of the tabs. :| It's an okay browser, and I'll probably make it my second for when I need a second browser window open, but I'll be sticking with Firefox. I love my add-ons and that tab bar in Chrome is just... ugh. I have things at the top of my screen and that interferes with them. :(
I'm using it now and it's easily up to speed with Opera for rendering speed (which means it leaves Firefox in the dust. I love the minimalist interface; it's like Safari but without the slow, bogged down interface libraries that the Windows port brings with it.
True to that, Jake. Speaking of Webkit, I'm about to start my 30 day OSX86-only test as soon as I can make my other two graphics cards work :D
Oh, and on Chrome? here's a list of some "about" pages, from chrome.dll:
about:cache
about:dns
about:histograms
about:objects
about:memory
about:plugins
about:stats "Shhh! This page is secret!"
about:version
Also, on the school-proxy thing, have you tried going to Options and manually entering the school's proxy details? It might not like dealing with the way squid deals out pages if it doesn't think it's using a proxy.
