Goths

I wouldn't say we're not social, only we're selective about those we socialise with. We tend to read more than most people + have different taste so therefore it becomes difficult to associate with 'normal' people.

I find hilarious how people label themselves as part of a certain (sometimes unexistant) subculture they don't really understand. Then each of them have different bizarre explanations for their lifestyle, sometimes as if there was a really big book that dictated the demeanor that makes a person part or that group of people.

I'd take you people more seriosuly if each of you didn't have completely different interpretations as to what makes a person a "goth" or else.

There are different types of Goth I believe. Not all of us are unfunny, boring, or lame. There are some that's nowhere near that catagory.

On the other hand me, Im not 100% goth but I sure dress like it everyday. I love the style but my act isn't exactly like them.
 
I don't care...what you dress like isn't important to me.

The only type of people who are non-conformist is those people that do what they do because they want to, not as a reaction to others...so those who consciously decide they want to be different from others are actually in a type of conformity, because they are still being affected by society ie by wanting to be different from what the rest of society believes to be normal. I done it in psychology last year, but I can't remember the different group names
 
There's a few goths around my school, and I think it's safe to say they're not overly popular. :x

Lol at the context adverts, this doesn't really scream 'gothic' to me.

My friend likes violence and blood and gets most of her clothes from West 49, but when I asked her if she was a goth, she laughed and said no. I think punks and goths are similar.

Personally i have nothing against goths, just kinda creeps me out seeing guys (maybe some girls) in tight clothes, black make-up and faces covered in piercings thats all... Really i have not seen a true GOTH. It is also to do with that us that don't fit into the "goth" way have no real knowledge on it.

yea if they are a friendly person who doesn't shove their ways "down my throat" then ill be fine.
 
Personally in my opinion goth people are AWESOME :) haha I mean I hang out with some and they're cool, some are deep dark but none of them are Emo or suicidal or anything (not like that really goes hand in hand or anything I'm just saying because sometimes people make that connection when really there isn't) and truthfully I'll hang out with anyone IF they aren't persecuting me because of their culture or beliefs...MEANING goths are cool but if they start to tell me "Oh don't hang with us because you're not a 'true goth'" then you know what...SCREW YOU!!!...that's pretty much my philosophy :)

Awesome! I see what you mean, ones that think their pure goth doesn't mean they have to hate every other kind or not hang with them.

well that wasn't EXACTLY what I was saying...but okay that works too ^^ hahaha anyway yeah what I was saying was that I truly don't care about how people work as long as they don't try and do whatever that may be by trying to hurt me in any way :) or shun me since I don't shun other people for their actions and beliefs
 
Gothic kids scare the crap out of me. I'm a very happy person by nature and when the dark, goth kid walks up, my happiness dies. It's to creepy.
 
The only goth I've ever met is my best friend. Heck, I don't think I could classify her as a goth. From what I've seen and heard from stereotypes, my friend in my opinion is nothing like a goth, despite the fact she wears black most of the time and the type of music she listens to. I'm not even sure what makes people goth.. :\ But, I don't really mind "goths", they seem like normal people really, just with a different aspect and view to life. o.o
 
Somehow, I think they're a little weird... no offense, I'm only talking about the ones I know. Especially an old friend of mine (blonde) who suddenly colored his hair black and started to use dark make-up and dress in leather coats and godknowswhatnot... I wonder if he even knows what the goth culture he's saying he belongs to really is? :/

Anyways, I think Goths do heir own stuff, and I do mine. There being "original" and different, but I think they all look the same. I tend to stay away from them, but that's just me.
 
ya know, ive always wanted to befriend a goth person.^^ just to see what its like, i mean , at my school(or schools) ive talked to some goth people before, actually held a conversation , but to be friends with one would be something new.

To be honest Goths are ok, I'm not one however, but because my towns are surrounded by chavs- you start to appreciate people like Goths because at least they have intelligence!

Although I don't support them 100% and find it ironic that they are trying to be "different", yet every Goth looks alike with the same dark piece of clothing!
 
I don't think the question should be "What do you think about Goths?", it should be "Why do you care?" >.>
As far as I'm concerned, there is no such thing as "Goth", nor is there Prep or Jock or Emo or whatever! Why does everyone have to give others derogatory labels just to hurt them or give themselves a label so that they may exclude others? Seriously, wear your name not a label.
