Are you someone who uses proper grammar (bad english), or someone who uses the more common "anti-grammar", as I call it. What I mean is, do you use:

Good Grammar - Hi there, my name is Banjora Marxvile

    OR

Bad Grammar - Hy thre!!!!!! Im Banjora Marxville!!!!! Hw R U!!!!! Feel well, I do!

OK, too extreme, but yeah. Also, does bad grammar annoy you if you are used to good grammar?

I like using good grammar, and I cannot stand bad grammar. Grammar is a key part of understanding people to me.

That's not all necessarily classified as grammar. ;D

But yes, poor English appalls me and I find it hard to read things that are written badly. =/

Also, surely capitalising random words in the title of the poll, and the first option, is bad grammar?

I'll use proper grammar on most forums, but on MSN I'll stop using capitals and periods some of the time because most people I talk to don't give a damn, but I do type words that are readable. None of this 'i will c u 2moz kk' nonensense.

i dnt use proper grammar. as you can tell.

people hav given me bad rep about it but i seriously dnt care. i dnt spell things wrong i just shortin some words. its not bad and its not like people cant read what i post.
    example:

    Doesn't- dsnt
    Don't= dnt

You're asking an editor's daughter... XD

Of course I do, and for that reason alone, I can stand chatspeak or anything that isn't proper English. Except emoticons, and "Engrish", since I love both XD

But I'm the kind of person who gets annoyed whenever I see someone post "lol", which, unfortunately, happens quite often >.>

Don't be shocked when people judge you because of it, then. People are more likely to think you're, uh, intellectually challenged when you decide to type like someone who's lost half their keyboard.

I endeavour to post with correct syntax and grammar. Of course, I won't get it right every time; as such I don't challenge people when they do mess up, especially if it's something incredibly petty and minor.

Yes, I prefer to use coherent English no matter what I'm doing. I feel there shouldn't be an excuse for poorly-written posts, because you have all the time in the world to make sure what you've written is written correctly, and most of all, clearly.

I do loosen up when I'm using an IM program, like for instance I won't bother with capitalization a lot of the time, and of course, since it's real-time conversation, there isn't the time to perfect what you write, so it's not as important as long as you're understood.

Poor grammar/spelling and regular usage of netspeak is one of the few things that will cause me to judge people on the internet. If their English is bad because they're still learning English as a second language, that's one thing, but blatant use of 'ur' and such just rubs me the wrong way. Plus, people who are learning English tend to be polite about it and at least let it be known that they're trying, as opposed to netspeakers, who appear to me as uneducated or simply apathetic about communicating properly.

I have seen essays here in college written with netspeak and poor spelling/grammar, so I believe we have a real problem on our hands these days.

There's a fine line between people who are lazy and people who are younger. 13 year olds don't know as much, grammatically speaking, as a 18 or 19 year old. I'd use the 'It's not my first language' as a legit excuse for some of you but then again there are plenty of people who are from other countries who are not native English speakers who type better than half the population of PC.

It comes down, honestly, to proof reading what you write before you post it and editing mistakes. >> So yes, I use correct grammar in all of its forms but by no means do I harass people who try and fail. It's not nice yo. D:

    i liek gud gramr kbai

But seriously, I used to use shortcuts for words such as 'are' and 'you' but I've completely changed from all of that. I may use it on MSN/Skype on not on the forums, unless I'm just joking around. ;D

    Lyk, omg, nu!

I adore proper grammer grammar. ♥ Which is why I hate so-called '1337-speak'.

I believe that any deliberate refusal to abide by the universal conventions of the English language should be a punishable offense. That should sum up my views towards grammar here.

Yeah, I don't harass people about it, since it doesn't do any good. All the judging takes place in my brain.

I do think 13-year-olds still should have the capacity to spell things right and use proper syntax and all, or at the very least use spell-check and such (and not use netspeak). If not, then there's something seriously wrong with the English-speaking world and how it's teaching its youth. :/

Haha. Look at my profile, my posts and take a wild guess.

I'm sorry, but people with horrible grammar need enhanced education.

I myself use proper English, but sometimes my grammar is a bit off.
I type out all of my words and punctuate where I think it's necessary..
But for the most part as long as I understand you, I don't care how you type.
    Same goes for myself.

My scouter is picking up raging superiority complexes in this thread. Over grammar, of all things.

The point of language is to get a message across to someone. Unnecessarily florid speech is just as bad as colloquial netspeak.

i am so bad at using bad grammar.. this is the kinda stuff people VM me
