I'm looking to change the starters in my new Pokemon game and I want to which one of the grass starters you like most.

It's a tie between Bulbasaur and Chikorita. Chikorita's just for looks, but Bulbasaur for moves and everything.

Venusaur is somewhat of a special tank, Meganium is a mixed wall of sorts, which works for a seeder, I guess you could call Sceptile a special sweeper, and Torterra is a physical tank. It all depends on which you prefer. Personally, I don't like any of them.

I like Chikorita. Simply because she looks better then the rest.

    What about Turtwig?

I choose Treecko because it/he looks cute, learns powerful moves and egg moves, and evolves into pretty cool looking Pokemon. No to mention I love how he acts in the anime.:t252:

    Bulbasaur, no question.
But Meganium would be my favourite from the fully-evolved grass starters.

Meganium is not only my least favourite starter, but one of my least favourites of all time. XD

I would go with Torterra, had he been one of the choices. It's actually the first Grass starter that I thought was worth training more than the other two. The unique typing does work well, as long as the opponent doesn't know Ice Beam. XD

I'm all for treecko->Sceptile, nuff' said.

Too bad that no trainer worth his game doesn't have at least one Ice Beamer somewhere on his team, if only to deal with those pesky Dragons. :P

    Bulbasaur > Ivysaur > Venasaur:
    Grass/Poison. 4 weaknesses and 4 resistances. ok.
Decent Sp. Atk, Sp. Def, and Speed. good, but normal Atk and Def are lacking.

    Chikorita > Bayleef > Meganium:
Grass. 5 weaknesses and 4 resistances. hmm.
Good Defense and Sp. Def and decent speed. I myself prefer good all-around defense if speed is below 100 base stat for final form.

    Treecko > Grovyle > Sceptile
Grass. 5 weaknesses and 4 resistances. hmm.
Excellent Speed and Sp. Atk. normal defenses are lacking. but if it is fast enough with a high enough Attack or Sp. Atk, it might not be such a problem.

    Turtwig > Grotle > Torterra
    Grass > Grass/Ground. 5 weaknesses, 4 resistances to 4 weaknesses, 2 resistances, and 1 immunity. hmm...
Decent Attack and Defense, but REALLY BAD SPEED. Its Sp. Def is ok, but its Sp. Atk is not that good so there isn't much use for its special attacks.

    i go with...Treecko

It was a toss up between Treecko and Bulbasaur.

I really like Bulbasaur, Ivysaur and especially Venasaur, but I think Treecko looks pretty cool.

The grass starters are the best in the type! I always take them regardless of what version I'm playing. Above all, Treecko's my undisputed favorite. I mean, who doesn't like Pokemon that look somewhat like real-life lizards as their starters?

Bulbasaur by a hair. I didn't like the third generation starters too much. Second gen was okay, only not as good as first.

My favourite of the grass-type starters is Chikorita. It's mostly personal preference, but I also go for its defensive stats. Although I have to admit, Treecko's stats were a nice change from the trend of slow, defensive grass-type starters.
