So I was wondering, since a red name is Staff Admin and a Green name is Assistant Admin. Does this mean the Assistant Admins are under Staff Admins or are they below Staff Admins and are right below Rukario?

From my understanding, the Staff Admins are on the same level as Steve. Steve just has a unique usergroup by virtue of being the actual admin in charge of the server costs and all that.

Assistant admins are essentially S-mods with limited access to the admin CP so they're somewhere between the S-mod rank and the Staff Admin rank. :D

It made a lot more sense when one of the requirements to being an actual administrator was being a website owner. Said Assistant Administrator position was made so outstanding forum members could help run the forums without having a community website (and also since the real administrators were always busy with life/their sites/etc.).

Now it is a bit ...over-the-top, in my honest opinion. Quite a bit of staff positions which are "Oh, he's about the same as him, just sliiiiiiiiiightly better."

The only prob with that is... most Site Admins weren't too busy with their life or their site to be on PC. And I say prob because they had their own forums before and they ran things like they wanted over there. And then they came to PC, they knew nothing about how PC worked form the Staff point of view, and they would do things on their own. It should have been "Hi guys, I'm the new Site Admin here. I'm the newbie here, and you guys have done a great job running the forum. If you don't mind could you show me how it's done around here so I don't do something I shouldn't?" and then no probs would have come up. But we had Admins making forums, we had Admins Modding people, and so on. They would go "I'm an Admin, I'm above you, I can do whatever I want!", even if that Staff member was on the Staff long before that Admin came along.

Don't get me wrong, we've had some really good Site Admins. But that system doesn't work because you had someone going from member to Admin thinking they could do whatever they wanted on PC.

Oh, I know of the problems that came later on. When I said they were too busy, I was more speaking of when Administrator became Site Administrator and Assistant Administrator was created. You know, when Kwesi would come on once in a blue moon and Steve was the only admin you could ever find.

In the end, I suppose the elimination of the Site Admins was for the best...though it caused a bit of drama. X3

Still, our Assistant Admins have worked hard and earned their position. Techically, if the elimination of the Site Admins hadn't created so many extra Staff Admins, they'd probably be in that smexy red anyway. Buuut, the AAs dont mind the green, in fact, I hear they like it. XD

At least it's less confusing than when people just were given ranks of their own. For awhile, due to the Admins-having-sites deal, normal members weren't allowed to "rise" to that rank... so there were smods with admin powers, and then we had the "Abby" rank which was an admin with a pink name... it was all quite funny.

As overzealous as this system is now, it makes a lot more sense.
