Hello everyone, I'm a new member here (would you believe it?) and this is my introductory thread (who would've thought).

Boring facts about me: 19, male, English, and an avid Pokemon fan since the first games and anime series. Other interests include music, creative writing and physics.

I usually prefer Pokemon that are always the weird and/or unpopular ones. Who else regularly picks up the Helix fossil, and prefers Ho-Oh to Lugia? And Sigilyph's design is awesome! I end up getting the least popular games too; Gold, Sapphire, LeafGreen, Pearl etc... it's half deliberate, to pick the slightly different experience from the majority. But the less popular ones seem to appeal more to me regardless.

You are new indeed! Welcome to PC! So, given your long username is there any nickname we can address you by? It's always nice to have one every now and then for convenience.

I know how you feel when it comes to underrated Pokemon, I have a lot of fave Pokemon myself that appear to be underrated or neglected by many which is a shame since in most cases I actually love the designs of said Pokemon. The Helix Fossil on the other hand has been getting some popularity thanks to the recent Twitch Plays Pokemon craze. And I like how you tend to pick the least popular of the paired versions, it's pretty interesting and funnily enough out of Diamond/Pearl I ended up with Pearl as my main game (blame my brother wanting Diamond lol) which was kinda baffling to me as Diamond had my fave exclusives of the two. But most of the games I got since then have always been the one I preferred the exclusive Pokemon of better. I also wonder if your starter choices also tend to be the least popular of the trio? That'd be interesting if it was the case.

If you're interested in discussing Pokemon, there's all the Pokemon sections (duh) which cover the games, anime, TCG and the franchise as a whole. So many great topics there to keep you busy for a while, and I'm sure you can make new friends with so many Pokemon fans here such as myself. Have an awesome time, and if you ever need help you can always ask a staff member! I do hope to see you around the forums.

Ho-Oh is way better than Lugia. Lugia is cool and all but a fire phoenix with an amazing backstory? I'm totally down for that, ahaha. We're already pretty similar as I generally prefer the underrated Pokemon and games of the franchise myself. Welcome to the forum and good to meet you, Ytmo~

From the looks of things you'll settle in awesomely here given your intro. Be sure to dive into the many discussion boards we have across the community and never be shy when it comes to poking someone to talk. ;P We're very responsive and happy to chat as well as assist if you're ever lost during your PC journey.

..plus you've been into Pokemon since the early days so that makes you a cool guy. I've loved the franchise since Red and Blue; it's been a treasure to me since.

Thank you! :) As for nicknames... Sheep put 'Ytmo', so maybe that? To be honest, it's just a deliberately long complicated name that's completely lacking in meaning, for my own amusement. ;)

Interestingly, I'm inclined to pick the 'middle popularity level' starter. So Squirtle, Totodile, Piplup, Oshawott and Fennekin. Just realised all but one are waters, lol. The exception would be Torchic for Emerald.

Yeah, Ho-Oh's always been a favourite of mine since Ash saw it in ep. 1 of the anime. I loved the mystery surrounding it and how the Pokedex couldn't tell what it was. It was before Gen II had even been released as well. Ho-Oh's never been in a movie, but it's kind of cool that it hasn't.

Who woulda thought indeed?! Still, it's nice that you did, teehee. Mmm, actually ever since the twitch plays pokemon event, everyone's been crazy about the Helix Fossil, haha. And I love Ho-oh! Definitely one of my favourite legendary pokemon, along side Lugia of course, but yeah, I love em' both anyways! Hence why I chose HeartGold, hoho. <33

I'm a small music lover and I like physics too. In fact, one of my majors was physics going into my future career once university is over for me. Mmm, and yeah, been a fan of pokemon ever since the beginning! Pokemon has certainly come a long way, you know? And it's amazing on what they always produce. Can't wait for what will come next! o/
