6th Gen Gym Leaders/Elite Four and Champion Discussions

Yea, I can see why you think that the Fairy type will be the new ''bug'' or ''poison'' type but I think that I still think that it will become rather popular.

I HOPE it does, so many people are hating on it. I really want the Fairy type to be amazing, so as to shove it in all of their faces :)

I think that generation will add a Dark gym, as the generation came to innovate the serie, What will be the problem with a dark gym in the game?

So, I looked up the other names for grant, and I think I am on to this.

So first off. All of the translations relate to pomegranates.

So, why Lino in Europe?

Carl Linnaeus, the European botanist whom named the pomegranate.

The Hebrew word for pomegranate tree and fruit is rimmôwn or rimmôn derived from the root râman which means to exalt, or lift or get (oneself) up, or to mount up. Of which Linneus named it after given it was a symbol of hope, and "uplifting. This works well with Grant's rockclimbing background. This is a very clever play on words if I am correct.

Pomegranite also has a double meaning, which refers to the pome"GRANITE" or a type of rock, which also ties into the rock theme.

Lastly, on Lino, after Linnaeus, we could speculate if also references "LINOleum" a hard rock-like surface.

I am almost certain that Grant is a rock type.

I will do my research on the other names and see if there exists a common thread. Perhaps to plants.
Lemon and Viola (A fruit and flower) may have a similar method of naming.

Okay, now for Clemont:

This time they all reference lemon or citrus fruits in the name.

But, that doesn't help us figure out his typing. Though, CiTRON could reference electron or electronic.

Clemont is really the name that sticks out. I finally figured out, Nicolas Clement. Another famous scientist. He was the scientist that discovered the measurement of a calorie and energy, which alludes to electronics. Also, tying into this, is the calorie, which ties into the fruit calories. Further, Clemont did research for sweetening companies, which also ties into the allusion to sweet lemons.

I have concluded, that Clemont is very likely to be an electric gym leader.

If both of my findings are correct, then Gamefreak is focusing on scientists and researchers of some sort, as well as fruit/plants in naming the gym leaders.

Here's how I think it will go down with Gym Leaders and the Elite Four.

Gym Leaders:

1. Bug. We know this.
2. Psychic.
3. Rock. Again. All hints point to Grant being ANOTHER Rock-type specialist.
4. Fire.
5. Steel/Electric. The hints we're given seem to indicate that Clemont is going to use the Steel Type or the Electric type.
6. Ghost.
7. Dark.
8. Dragon. We've had 2 previous 8th gym leaders be Dragon-type. Why stop now?

Elite Four:

1. Water.
2. Poison. Like Koga.
3. Ice.
4. Fairy. The Fairy type has to be here somewhere.

I think the Champion will use assorted Pokemon. As you can see, the Elite Four are balanced, and you can't troll them all with one Pokemon.

This is My prediction of the Gym Leaders and Elite Four .

Does Viola fit into that theme? I know her name refers to both a flower and a kind of butterfly.

I'm glad that Viola is the first gym leader making less than half of the first gyms rock (also unlike Cheren her type is weak against Rock just like Falkner, and Chili. While Cilan and Cress are super effective against Rock. Interestingly Normal isn't very effective against Rock so none of the first gyms are completely free from it.), and is our first Female bug specialist overall.

Kale has been confirmed fake BTW

Sorry for being inactive in a couple of days, my computer broke down and I'm happy to see that this thread is still alive. I'm doing my best trying to stay updated about the latest updates and rumors and so far everything is the same at the moment.

Come to think of it, I've heard that a list of possible evolutions for the starters, Spritzee has Swirlix has been leaked but this is a rumor only. I think you can find out more about this in the rumors thread.

Viola flowers produce fruit capsules so in a way it kinda does.
I was mostly referring to the scientists, but at least it has some link to the fruit theme theory xD.

Maybe one will be called Anna which is a kind of apple. In one language the name is male and means Eagle so s/he could be a flying gym leader.
