Question: Has Pokémon General died down a bit?

    when I first signed up for PokéCommunity Forums, Pokémon General was the most popular forum to be posted in... now it seems that Pokémon Gaming Central seems to yield faster and more replies and more topics as well as a few other forum areas. Has Pokémon General gotten slow or less popular or is it just me?

    It's been slowing down over the years... eventually people run out of things to talk about, I guess.
     
    Well you see, after Toujours left her moderator position, the activity in Pokemon General just plummeted basically. Without the amazingness that is Toujours, all hope is lost for Pokemon General and the activity will continue to decline UNTIL NOTHING REMAINS!

    Unless of course Toujours returns to her post in which case Pokemon General would be back in full bloom due to the powers of Toujours. Is the word Toujours starting to sound weird to you because it sure as hell is for me.

    While the newly modded RHCP is a fearsome beast of a woman, sadly her skills are no match for the Toujours and such, RHCP is utterly helpless to do anything to restore Pokemon General to its former glory.

    I find that to be extremely rude and unnecessary. If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all. RHCP and Brendino are doing a great job with moderating Pokemon General, and I don't think it's up to you or anyone else to pass down such shallow judgements.

    I'm not sure how things were in early 2011, but it's possible that PGC and PG were still the same section back then. A catch-all for everything pokemon, games or not, that didn't fit in other sections. Lots of things to talk about, in other words.

    When they were split up, activity in PGC was still okay high since there is often new things to discuss about the games. PG might be slower since a bit more creativity might sometimes be necessary to spark nice topics there. The section is, after all, the very last section to go to when no other place fits your intended topic, so it's not strange if other sections are more active.

    Then there is PVP so a good chunk of less discussion-based threads that would otherwise ft in PG get placed there instead. For good or worse.

    Activity might certainly have dropped when the previous mod became leas active, since there was no one to pick up on and realize ideas. But I would say PG and its subfora feel more lively already again, and me and Brendino will do our best to make sure that Pokemon General is what PC needs it to be.

    I don't think activity has died in Pokemon General, it's still one of the regularly viewed sections by most members and while it's harder to make a new topic there then it would in Pokemon Gaming Central, there was one point where the two sections were once one section and the split of them was to keep all general Pokemon game discussion to one side and the franchise as a general in the other.

    Toujours did do a great job, lasting almost 2 years in the spot. And while activity may have dropped a bit since her departure from staff, I still know that Red's Hawt Chibi Pelippers and Brendino are doing an awesome job with the revamped forum splashes and they are promoting activity, which is one of the keys to making a section get a lot of visits or even posts.
     
    Thank you for your concern, JustinRPG, but this thread isn't really warranted. The board is still going through a passing over phase and Red's Hawt Chibi Pelippers and Brendino are working hard to create an active board for everyone to enjoy.

    If you have any ideas or input, please contact them instead of posting a public topic, as it could be seen as slating the current Moderators, which is what we don't want.

    Also, Drakow, bit harsh to RHCP, please apologise.
