    Have you?

    The topic sparked today when I was sitting in my study hall at my private Christian school, and I was talking to this one girl. Two 8th graders who think they're all that because they're top of the elementary school were talking really low about how my eyeliner was weird because it was all the way around my eyes, and how my hair looked stupid all backcombed.

    I just sat there and tried not to say anything.

    The really funny part comes from the fact that one of the two 8th graders was caught having sex with a junior (my class) who got expelled for it. They were doing it down at the gym in plain view.

    So I was about to say, "At least I didn't get caught sleeping with [name withheld]. At least I'm not a slut. At least I'm a virgin."

    But I'm a good girl, so I didn't.

    I almost smacked her though.

    So anyway. Have you ever been teased for being of the emo/scene or combination scemo categories? Ehh, I have, obviously. All the time, because no one else in my school is scemo.

    never actually come across the word scemo before. I haven't but my friend was though. Even though she wasn't an actual 'emo' or was 'scene'. She didn't really care. She just laughed at them.

    Scemo = scene + emo.

    When the line is kinda blurred and you're not scene or emo, but a mixture. That's what scemo is, just so ya know.

    wtf is scene? ive never heard of it...but anyway i have many friends who r what other people call "emo"...and earlier in high school (like freshman year) yeah they got picked on...but no one really does anymore....seems like as you move on through high school people stop really caring about picking on other kids and actually start thinking about the end (of high school)....however there is still the ever constant joking around about it...but thats harmless..

    Sounds like a good time. Did you see it?

    Yes i have, and being a boy it tends to get more.. shall we say.. VIOLENT. I am hated by most people for being, what they call, "Emo". The second they see me they hate me, and i sometimes get circled by a big "Chav" group who then give me two black eyes and anything else that suits then. I wish people could just grow up, and i wish people judged me after they've met me.

    I could go into more, but i won't. But hey, bruises and blood heal in time, i guess.

    Then quit coming off as "emo." Two black eyes is where it crosses the line.

    ummm I dont like scene kids and as for Emo kids they're nothing but Scene kids. in my opinion the only Emo (which is short for Eotive Hardcore btw) is a genre of music. In another 5 years the Scene trend will be done and I will be happy

    No, I haven't. Mainly because I don't have anything to do with the whole Scemo scene.

    If she says yes are you going to ask her to describe it in graphic detail?

    they jumped u?! man that sucks...been there...dnt worry about it...lift some weights and take a few boxing classes and the next time it happens go for the nuts....trust me when they try to gang up on you the rules of fair fighting become nonexistant...just go for the eyes, balls, throte, or the diaphram (chest cavity)...dont change who you are or the way you look or act because of intimidation...

    Agreed. Two people got "excluded" and the others threatened. So i've kept my look. For now. You don't have to sound so harsh! Lol.

    Shadowleader: up against 5 people, i don't stand a chance. They're much larger than me, to. But hey, thanks for the advice! Lol.

    I have to make sure someone chews you out for something like this if no one else is succeeding.

    Im not exactly emo, but pretty darn close to it. I do not cut my self ON PURPOSE though.

    Well, not bullied, but what they do is definalty annoying. I go so mad, I took a broom and chased the kid around the class. Im lucky I didnt swing cause I would have hit the teacher.... xD

    No... I'm not emo or whatever this scene / scemo is.

    Besides I voted for oranges because I'm cool like that.

    Scene is kind of like emo, except instead of being sad and sensitive, scene kids are annoying, loud, obnoxious, and random. They dress the emo style, except that they backcomb their hair a lot (brush it backwards - look at my pics, they're examples) and usually use cute bows and stuff. Usually they use words like 'rawrr' and 'you are the sex' and stuff like that.

    Basically, they're a mixture of prep and emo.

    And no, emo is NOT about cutting yourself. Some emos do it. Most of them don't, and it's an annoying stereotype >_>

    And no, Ninja Tree, I didn't see them do it, sadly ;_;

    It would have been hilarious though :D

    I might wear black and white, but everyone knows that I'm almost the exact opposite. XD

    Even if there are some teasing about it, it's all for the laughs.

    Yeah, it's mostly Myspace/Facebook/Bebo/Nextopia that has tons of scene kids. Apparently anyone scene is supposed to be attracted to social networking sites *shrugs*. I have a Nextopia and used to have a Facebook (deactivated it) and plan to have a Myspace, but it's just cuz I like people XD

    I'm not emo. I'm dark, which is a little different. Dark is more of an emotional state of being that "emo" is; "emo" tends to be more of a cultural thing. Dark's basically that one likes to stay out of everything, off the radar, thinking of things for themselves, mainly because they're either shunned by everyone, or, as in my case, have a few friends that tend to only like company at certain times of the day. It's usually initiated by shyness or other similar emotions. I used to be very open, but I'm now a lot more shy than I used to be.

    It's like emo, but minus the stereotypes, the music, the clothing and everything. Nobody would suspect anything unless they got to know you better.

    I don't bully emos, though. Hell, I could argue my sister's an emo. It really means nothing to me; sure, I get my crack from the emo fashions and bands (I honestly hate a lot of them), but at the same token I don't do it to be deliberately mean to a particular person, which is what bullying tends to be. To me, I'm laughing more at the fashion and music, thinking to myself "how could they like this", rather than laughing at the person, thinking, "this person's soooo stupid/gay/annyoing 'cause they're emo".

    I'm also not "scene". A lot of people I know are. I'm one who's typically very reserved and usually enjoys doing things by myself, about myself, and only involving myself. Call it selfish if you will, but I just don't like being around people, popular fads and the such.

    That's my opinion on the whole deal.
