I didn't see this, forgive my blindness if ther is one. I was just curious if anyone here was ever acting onstage in front of a crowd before? My first time is saturday and I'm a little teensy bit nervous. >.<

Yes, a few times for things like choir concerts, plays and monolouges and stuff. I was also on stage on tuesday for my dance dress rehearsal and I'll be going again on saturday for the actual dance recital.

I love being on stage, it's a lot of fun <33

Yup. For my dance performances, graduation ceremonies, and choir.
The first time I was on stage, I was nervous too. But you'll get used to it. ^____^

    Yeah, I was the lead female role in a play this year. Oh it sucked ;o;

I was in 2 plays at the same time last year. Those were better than this one actually.

Yeah, though I have no natural talent or pride so it was never very fun. x_x

Yeah, some years ago I was in a dancing group at school so I performed alot onstage in theatres and places. It was fun. Shame I don't do it anymore.

I graduate on a stage, does that count? 8D *shot*

The only thing that would be close to acting on a stage is choir. I haven't done plays or anything on stage. The only drama I did was in 7th grade, and that was for a quarter. It was fun though.

I have never acted on stage but during junior high and high school I was on stage three times a year at school and then for competitions all because of band. My partern on stage was my trusty tuba.

It was never band. They couldn't see me because tubas were in the back and I could never see anybody in the crowd. I miss going on stage since it has been one year since I last been on stage. haha

Couple of years ago I had a minor role in the school production of Grease. It was fun and I'd probably like to do something like it again.

omg! My school is doing that play this year! Well, they've already done it, I should say. Dx

ANyways, I have been a few times. As from Grade1-3 I was forced into the school choir (All kids had to back then ;;) and also for a play I was in during grade8. Guess what? I WAS AN EXTRA! xD; But then again, I joined in like, 2 weeks before the performance and like 5 months after it had started up, so it was all cool. ;D Then there was also my grad.. but that was like... 5 seconds long. :3

in 3rd grade I was casted to a major role in the school play but the other kids whined so much and I didnt want to have to memorize that many lines so they rewrote the script and gave me a minor role beside the main character....
I was In theatre during my junior high years(Grades 7-8) I acted in 3 plays then
in my freshman year of high school(grade 9) I was in theatre also so I was in 2 more plays there.
I have no fear of acting...I belive that I could make a great actor if I needed to be...
....buuut, acting isnt my passion though....I have talent but I dont see any need for it yet...I would rather be here on PC than acting in a play.....It does come in handy sometimes though XD
All my roles in the plays were minor though....I asked for minor roles because i am too lazy to memorize lines...I'm more of an improv kinda guy XD

I have a history with the stage, I'm really into music so I'm always in all of the band and choir concerts for school. Last year in seventh grade I played Winthrop in the music man, and this year I was in the chorus for State Fair (lame musical, and also it made me hate Iowa, no offense to people who live in Iowa). I wish that our school would do Grease, but the community is all strict christian and would probably go on an outrage if we did it.

I was in a drama class the last two years as an elective, and I was cast in Othello as the roll of Iago once, just for fun in my 7th grade class.

Uh, I'm mostly just improv. though. Always trying to find something random and funny just to throw in during the middle of a skit is always interesting...

I'll never forget one time when we did something my teacher called "House Party," where several students from the class were chosen to play various roles while while the "Host" stepped outside. The object of your role was to play it well enough for the host to actually guess what you're supposed to be.

There was one day I was messing around in class with some friends, and having noticed that I was completely uninterested, the drama tteacher told me to pick an act to play out. Not knowing what to do, I quiclkly thought of the first role that popped into my mind...

From then on, I was the Metalhead Power Ranger, Uh...That wasn't who I was trying to be, but since that was the first guess I just played along, and made that my part xD

Yeah, though I have no natural talent or pride so it was never very fun. x_x

So do I. Or I have not tapped into it. But I have been onstage before because I took part in Public Speaking. I only joined because I want to find out why do people get stage frights. And it's not scary at all!

    I did, every year!
Its part of the school grading system
every 3rd or 4th quarter/ 2nd semester for some of you
I always act on the stage just to get 87 or B+ on my report cards O.o

Several times, surprisingly enough. In elementary school our school would put on these compulsory concerts, one each year up to grade four. After that, I went with the choir to a casino in Atlantic City. The next time I would be on stage would be the graduation ceremonies.

During high school years, I was on stage once — for a talent competition (I licked my elbow) at one of the youth summits. And in the coming week I'll be on stage a few times again — this is graduation year.

I've been on stage several times. A couple of those times because of choir. The other times it was either I had to act something out (only happened once, and it was really embarrassing), or I got an award or something.

But I like going on stage for choir the most xP

Yes. I've been on stage several times during choir and orchestra concerts, and one time for the annual school play. You kind of get used to it after awhile. Good luck to you on Saturday! :)

Yuppers! I've been on the stage since I was 4 years old. O_o Dance recitals, school plays, graduations. It prepared me very well for public speaking; I can say that! So, when you go on stage to act, make like the audience isn't even there--that helped me get rid of any nerves, at least. In auditoriums it gets pretty dark, so you can barely see the audience, anyway. But just remember that the audience is there to see you perform so don't worry so much! They look forward to your performance so give it your all and you should be fine. Break a leg! ^_~
