Have you ever dropped an anime?

I dropped Mai Hime, 'cause I couldn't stand the art style, it was just too different from what I had seen until here.

I also dropped The Tower Of Druaga, for the simple reason that there were some porn scenes, something I really hate.
And the characters were just getting on my nerves, I couldn't stand them !

Hm...I started watching The Broken Blade, though I'm a bit stuck for some reason. I don't know yet if I'll drop it or not, but I think I won't.

Ah, I can't forget them : Naruto and Bleach.
I dropped them because the story doesn't go anywhere.
Well that's what I think.

The ones I dropped:

-Bakugan Gundalian Invaders: I watched the previous Bakugan seasons because I was curious and I thought they were ok. But this season is a mess. The action is not that interesting, the replies are lame and not funny at all, they have gone too far with the alien stuff and so it became boring.
-Basilisk Koga Ninpo no Cho: I lose interest after the first 3 episodes.
-Blood+: the same
-Galaxy Angel: this one was ok, but couldn't find the rest of the episodes
-Love Get Chu: same goes for this one...and I really wanted to see how it ends T_T
-Slayers Revolution: lost interest+not finding the episodes

Over the years i dropped quite a few animes, i'll list what i can remember.

Eureka seven - Dropped this twice, don't get me wrong love the anime but always seemed to drop it around ep 40ish for no apparent reason. Eventually finished it on my 3rd attempt of re-watching the series.

Soul eater - Started off great and started to lose interest somewhere in the mid 30's, might pick this up again if i get time.

Le chevalier deon - Really can't recall why i dropped this

Naruto + Bleach - Too many fillers, i still read the mangas though.

Fairy tail - only read the manga now, couldn't like the anime as much when i already knew what was going to happen.

Durarara - Awesome anime, fell behind with the releases and never got around to catching up. Will most likely finish it sometime.

Katanagatari - Same as above

Others - Techxnolyze, monster, baccanno, Aoi bungaku, blood, last exile, kenshin, freezing, read or die

Luxky Star - The first episode. Was about. HOW TO EAT A CHOCOLATE CORONET?
Watched a few more episodes after that, couldn't get into it, so yeah I dropped it.

Naruto and Bleach - Pretty much for the reasons everyone else stated. Too many chapters. Too many plot points that just don't seem to be going anywhere. Naruto especially seems to take one step forward and then two steps back just about every arc.

Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - I watched the first season and I really liked it a lot. I just skipped out on the second season for a lack of interest lawl.

Oh, but Haruhi's annoying. I hear she's better in the light novels, but anime!Haruhi is near unbearable. :c

I've dropped 2 anime.

S-Cry-Ed-I watched it 2 times. The second time I was watching it, I stopped watching it because of the language said in it's subtitles.

Neon Genesis Evangelion- Yeah, I did watch most of the episodes, but when I watched the movies, that's when I stopped watching it.

Haven't dropped an anime, well I've never watched Naruto since then now due to my busy schedule so I guess that's dropping?

I've dropped a few shows when there's just no point in watching any longer. Most recent example would have to be Rio: Rainbow Gate, stupidly I didn't read any reviews and thought the overview of a tropical casino resort sounded cool. I watched the first episode which was full of boobs, ecchhi fanservice and an absolutely ridiculous nonsensical plot and dropped it straight away.

I've finished few and dropped many. I try really hard to find those hidden gems but I can't seem to do it. It's hard to top the emotion of shows like Clannad: After Story, or the over the top epicness of Gurren Lagann. Others try but fall real short or fail really hard when compared to the best. If it's more than 100+ episodes though, won't do it.

Outlaw Star
Soul Eater
Kanon
D.Grey Man
...

At least 20 more on the list... lol

Oh, gosh...it appears Naruto and Bleach are permeating the list... :( I'm surprised I'm not seeing much of Pokemon... (now would be a bad time to drop it, IMO)...

Anyway, I haven't really dropped any anime...oh, yeah, there was Zatch Bell... :x Art style was weird and story was...strange. Also, Bakugan Battle Brawlers, though I wasn't really interested going in anyway. Came off as too ripoff-ish with convoluted and inconsistent rules for the card game.

I intend to finish most of the ones I've seen at some point, though. Shows like MAR, Bobobobobobobo, Blue Dragon, Megaman: NT Warrior/Star Force and Spider Riders which got interrupted I'm on the fence about, but I'll probably give them another try.

I now understand why "long-running" anime are discouraged...simply not enough time to catch up these days. >_> Shows I still have to watch:

Naruto (both series; left off right before Sasuke's departure of Konoha in original series)
Bleach
One Piece
Fullmetal Alchemist
(both series; only started first one)
InuYasha
(both series; only started first one)
Pokemon (I'm actually catching up with Best Wishes)
Digimon Frontier and Savers (and Cross Wars' dub)
Yu-Gi-Oh! (post Orichalcos arc(s) and subsequent series)
Ranma 1/2
Chrono Crusade
(completed manga)
Dragon Ball (entirety)
Neon Genesis Evangelion (uh...at least one of the series. A bit convoluted, IMO >_>)
Death Note
Cowboy Bebop
Ghost In The Shell - Stand Alone Complex, 2nd GIG
Rave Master
Air Gear

Sonic X (
Japanese version, though I prefer English voices)
Kirby of the Stars/Kirby: Right Back At Ya!
Eureka Seven
Baccano
Durarara!! (in progress)

FLCL
Fate Stay Night
Magical Pokan

Shows that were recommended or haven't started:
Rurouni Kenshin
Code Geass
Gurren Lagann
Buso Renkin
(started manga)
Samurai Deeper Kyo
Jinki: Extend (started manga)
Maburaho

DuelMasters (originally was going to dismiss it due to "ripoff" status; might give it a chance due to card game parody)
RahXephon (completed manga)
Wolf's Rain

O_O I didn't even know that I was exposed to that much anime and manga...this hobby is quite massive/time-consuming/addictive...:cer_laugh:

Hhhmmm.. I've dropped a lot of anime over time, but some of them were just me getting sidetracked, and never going back, rather than me disliking them.

Here's the few that I remembered off the top of my head, though..

Code Geass - I'll admit, I never finished R2. Had too many spoilers, and still haven't bothered watching the ending.
Naruto - It's why too long, and all I care about his knowing who's alive and dead at the end of it all.
Eureka Seven - Actually did lose interest with this one.
The Meloncholy of Haruhi Suzumiya - Same as above, didn't really hold me in.
Highschool of The Dead - I was disappointed with some of it, as well as hearing that it trailed away from the manga, and had a suck ending.
Pokemon Diamond and Pearl - I wasn't too impressed with Sinnoh at all, kinda like Johto.
Baccano - Got distracted and never finish it.

I dropped To Love-Ru after a few episodes. I don't mind the childish humor or large amounts of fanservice, I just felt that it was handled very horribly.

There were quite a few more, but To Love-Ru tops the list because it's just so bad.

Pokemon Black and White. Team Rocket is... so dull.
Dragonball GT due to lack of episodes (64 i think) and seasons (only 2).

I dropped Naruto after a generous 30 episodes of enduring it. If an anime doesn't pique my interest after 30 episodes, either it's crap or it's taking too long to become interesting. I might pick it up later on if I'm really out of anime to watch. I also dropped Bleach after the current fillers kicked in. I'll definitely pick up on it once the fillers are over, though.

I dropped a four anime, either because I couldn't stand the characters, artwork, or the overall plot.

School Days
Vampire Knight
Bobobbobobobbobobobobobbobbobbobo
One Piece

I can remember watching a few episodes of Hellgirl (jigoku shojo) and dropped it because of it's unpleasant and dark themes.

Pokemon - I stopped seriously watching after the Orange Islands. I haven't liked many of the new Pokemon since then. Also, I hated May, Max, Drew, Harley, Dawn, Zoe, Paul, and almost everyone else they found.

Naruto - I watched a few episodes of this when it first came out here in America, but couldn't get into it. You could tell from the very beginning that it was going to be a kids show.

Bleach - It follows the same kind of dragging on story that DBZ and such did: Strong bad guy appears, good guy reaches his power limit and defeats bad guy, even stronger bad guy appears, good guy reaches higher power limit and defeats bad guy, etc. It pretty much goes on like that, but with crappy filler episodes in between.

That's all, really. I don't watch anime, and the few that I have tried were all good.
FLCL, Cowboy Bebop, Code Geass, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Big O, Detective Conan, Death Note.
Basically all the ones that were/are on adultswim.

EDIT: I think out of those, Death Note was my favorite :D
I love all of the episodes and yes, even the movies. Including the L spinoff.
I also bought a replica Death Note from 399animeshop :3
(It's been years since i've used the :3 emote. At least 4 years. Back in my Neopets days.)
