Banned? Maybe by name, but not by IP since he came back...I sort of wish he could be IP-banned, as he seems like the type that'll keep coming back. Just my opinion, though <_<;;

I thought Satoshi took care of him... strange.

*goes to bug Zapchu*

Hmm...personally, I'd like to see any of the s-mods promoted to praetor, though Lightning and Satoshi-Kun seem the most active. but I can't think of anyone in the mod category who ought to be made an S-Mod...they're either not on enough or best suited to modding the forum(s) that they're currently modding...As for regular members modded, there are plenty of responsible people who I would recommend...I need to make a list sometime.
My timing online on PC is usually one of the worse indicators of how often people see a person online --;; Meaning that I am online when most people are offline.
Still, I agree that Satoshi-kun and Lightning are active. Arcanine deserves to be a Praetor, he's active too, before he left for a while maybe. I don't see Dakota online usually, but I sure do see his posts around the T-Dome ^^;; JKaizer is active, no doubt about it ;) Maybe he deserves to be the next S-mod
btw, IP shouldn't be reliable, because I'm on a rotation usually =P

Arcanine is praetor. :P

And Dakota is active in certain areas of the forum...

Kay is active in her normal spots. ^^

That is the sticking-point of IP-banning...dial-up people can easily get around it. I suppose that's the only advantage of dial-up over cable or dsl. Still, the majority of people don't have dial-up, right?

First of all, let me address the original topic of this thread. Flaming is against the rules. It doesn't matter whom you are flaming, the rule still stands. Just to refresh our memory, the definition of flaming (as I see it) is basically the action of attacking someone's integrity, intelligence, reputation, or opinions. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and sadly, thr spammers are no different. Just because they break a lot of rules when they come does NOT mean you flame them. They get their just desserts when they're banned. They do a fine enough job making themselves look incompetent if they try to reregister just to bother some Pokemon fans. =\ The reason they do what they do is simply to get a reaction from us - if we ignore them and just keep banning, they go away. Trust me - I know.

It is, however, perfectly fine to argue with them normally as long as you do it in a civilized manner. I wouldn't suggest this all the time, though, as they can get pretty unruly when trying to agitate members. I hate generalizing like this, though, so I'm going to move on and address a few quotes I saw.

S-Mods can't IP ban? That's terrible...they should be afforded that power for extreme circumstances such as these...if they're trusted enough to be S-Mods, they should be trusted all the way in respect to banning powers.
We've got the power to ban, which is enough, I believe. If it's fine for forums all over the world, I think it should be okay here, too. Besides, we've already got two extra positions completely original to PC (well, except for the forums whose admins can't come up with anything original). Kairi and Arcanine have IP banning powers, I'm quite sure, so we've normally got that covered. Yesterday was just an exception, though - they were both away from their computers. o_O

Well if arcanine was here he would do it in a heart beat...But some other mods might not be so leanat...And help us with the announcements....
...what? *goes back to reread the context* Meh. I still don't understand what you're getting at with that post. If you're talking about banning, of course anyone with the power to do so would ban anyone causing trouble like that in an instant. It's not just Andy. As for the announcement thing, it works much, much better if you just send a PM to anyone online with the power to take care of things. If there aren't any, send PMs to everyone who can take care of it and the first one online will deal with the problem.

here's my idea

Arcanine needs to be in Kairi's user group
Current S-mods need moved to Preator
7 mods should be moved to S-mods catagory.
10 members moved to mods group.

I understand that it is sketchy, and adjustments will have to be made to account for staff/member ratio.
As mentioned before, Arcanine has the same usergroup as Kairi, really. It's just the title and the colour that's different. Praetors/Abbies are assigned power individually, so there wouldn't be any difference anyway. The powers they've got now are the one's they were assigned. As for your other suggestions - we probably can't do that. That's a lot of moderators. We don't hastily hand out admin powers simply because of the risk - it's hard enough with so many admins as it is, but if all the S-Mods were moved up that would make over 10 people with (basically) full access to the CP. That's pretty dangerous considering how easy it can be to crack someone's account and mess things up. As for mods into the S-Mod category... I don't think we have 7 mods who are active enough to take on the role, and that's how we try to promote - by qualities, not to fill quotas. Well, I think so anyway. People are always changing their minds in the modding thread in the HQ. *rolls eyes* I will bring up the aspect of getting more mods, however.

edit: Oh, and while on the topic of activeness, Kayleigh is finally finished being grounded, so that's why she's rarely been on the last while. ^_^;;

Uhm...JKaizer pointed me to this, if there's anything you need me to do, say it now or forever hold your peace.

:P I think all of you are hecka more qualified than me to do moderating/admining stuff, so I'll just agree on what all you guys say, since you've been longer here than I have.

true, very true. however, we cannot just sit here and know that there are 2 ACTIVE people with actual ban powers (no offence) and that if neither of them are on somebody can jsut keep coming back and spamming more.

I haven't noticed... because I usually only read the first post of a thread and then respond to that. Pretty vain, yes.

Zapchu: Hmm...I think I can ban people, found that out today.
Everyone: ...*sweatdrop*
Zapchu: Er...yep...I recently discovered how to log into CP and help with member problems.
Everyone: ...*falls over and twitches*

Uh can everyone see me online? I'm on invisible mode, but I'm usually on PC everyday, night, morning, and afternoon I always check here. If you guys need me to take care of anything, PM me would be the fastest way. Cause I don't check all the threads sometimes, but I try. >_>; You guys are sooo much faster at locking topics.

O_O;... dude.. if you are admin, and you're here all the time, why didn't you react to the spammer?

Because she didn't know. ??

I think what we need is someone in Australia/Asia with IP banning powers, because then we'll be somewhat evenly balanced. As far as I know, all of our active ones live in the US.

(Does Satoshi have IP banning power?)

For the most part, Andy and Abby do pretty good.

But another S-Mod and another Praetor/Abby wouldn't be bad.

Nope, your status isn't online, but I can already guess you were on invisible mode =P

What announcement? O.o

Tell me what it is and I could make it.
