i actually have a shuckle he is a beast even with only 181 hp

Here is a example...
When you beat a Graveler on Iron Island then you'll get 2 EVs.
I EV'd the Defense of my Shuckle with that.
I've beat one Graveler after a other Graveler...at the end my Shuckle wents to the next level (DEF +8).
After some levels he starts just to get +5 on DEF (that's what Shuckle gets normally without EC-Training).
Then I save (let's say Shuckle is on Lv.40). When I see that he gets on DEF +5 again (at Lv.41), then I turn my DS off and train other EVs.
But I'm sure that I made a huge mistake at the beginning...I didn't gave him enough of those EV-growing Items (Protein, Calcium, Carbon,...).

This a common misconception by rookies. It doesn't matter how much your stat goes up by, you won't see the finished product until you are level 100. Just because it only goes up +5 doesn't mean that you didn't do it right. Mine usually only go up +3 or +4 at a time on any stat on any Pokemon.

Dude that's dire. Mine has 282 HP or something thereabouts.

yea i didnt ev mine but the guy who did gave it 4hp/252def/252spdef but hey its shiny

I "discovered" serebii.net too and I have to say that's the best site to take a look at pokemon details.

Power Trick is actually a good move...
But if the enemy uses a physical attack...then the Shuckle will be defeated.
How do they say : No risk, no fun :D

No not really. You get 510 evs as a whole. You can only put a max of 255 evs in each stat(but you only want to put 252 as you want it to be divisible by 4). So you don't need to be 100 to have all your evs.

lol no kidding, giving a shuckle max hp is like giving a blissey max defence, it doesnt seem smart at first but really it like doubles ur survivability chances

Too stupid that I figured that out too late '^^
But hey, my Shuckle is still on Lv.50...

BTW, I'm planning to train a Dunsparce and a Furret.

Yea you have the EV's but it is level 100 before they are all transfered into your stats.

that move really only works in a trickroom doubles team shucke can take the first hit and then power trick and feint the next turn without being able to attack

Why would you want to train horrible pokemon. Furret sucks. Dunsparce isn't that great unless your lucky.

Because some people actually like using Pokemon they are fond of. And TheKillerNacho on youtube kicks as with a Furret and I have done serious damage with Dunsparce on my Trick Room doubles team.

Well that doesn't really matter because it will fix all that in wifi battles. Unless you really want to lvl it up all the way or you have an AR.

lol what u talkin bout natedog???

Furett first of all is the king of normal pokemon (snorlax being god), and as such surprises the hell outve ya. Just because it aint hard hitting dont me u cant surprise ppl with a switcheroo or sumthing. Its a surprise pokemon, so it has plenty of uses just not damaging ones

And the dunsparce flinch tactic works surprisingly well... its like a poor mans jirachi

Of course it doesn't matter, but the point is rookies expect that if they got a full 252 EV's without leveling up once that when they do they will get +63 to the stat immediately, which they won't.

the biggest stat up ive gotten in one level is 35 but then again ive only ev trained a few pokes myself

As a pokemon trainer you have to try out some things :)

Okay...guys. I'm going to bed. It's 12:30 PM here, so good night :)
