4th Gen HeartGold/SoulSilver, A Bluff?

It would upset a lot of costumers and fans, which would hurt Nintendo a lot. Yeah, there could be a possible chance of getting delayed. Okay, I'm sure everyone can deal with that, 'cause they're still making it, right? However, if it's a bluff…

I personally think that they have been working on a G/S Remake since around the time they started on Platinum; maybe even sooner than that.

A delay in release, yes... but if Nintendo pulled a hoax like that, you would see a lot of upset customers from the Pokemon fandom. In reaction, it might even affect their sales, making people think that any kind of popularly-wanted remake or sequel announced for release by them could just as well be the very same thing. Not to mention they have announced that it is possible that a release of the game will be in Autumn; once you announce possible release dates, you can't step back and declare it won't be coming out. (not really, anyway) Besides, they know that Pokemon is one of their biggest-selling franchises. What would be the point of lying about a remake when they've already remade the first Generation?

Overall, from a company viewpoint, it would be a very very bad idea to declare that the whole HG/SS remake announcement was just a hoax put together by Nintendo themselves just to agitate their fans again. (let's not forget (or let's highlight) the whole Fatal Frame 4 ordeal; I've not looked into it personally, but apparently, there has been a lot of tip-toeing around the matter by Nintendo as to if it will even happen) I know some people who have almost lost hope with Nintendo over that, so if they did it to one of their best-selling and most popular franchises... whew... I don't want to know what would happen. XD

Me, personally? I wouldn't be a happy fan, but I wouldn't let it have a major impact on me. I'd just add it to the major disappointing games/gaming announcements pile... XD;

Yes this remake is official now. If it wasn't then Nintendo would probably have a bad name, because a lot of people wanted this remake to happen. In one of the threads, it was said to heard that these remakes were in the working since Diamond and Pearl. Has Nintendo ever lied about any game they were remaking or better yet, making?

That would be the worst business decision on the planet.

You promise a game that everyone has been looking forward to for years, and then don't deliver on it? How would the customer base react to a business that pulled a stunt like that? Especially a customer base of multimillions of people, with a business as high-profile as Nintendo, selling a product as well-known as Pokémon games?

No company could intentionally lie about something as big as that, something as hyped and expected as that, and then not deliver. The customer base will be furious with them, will boycott their products, will never trust them again. There's also a good chance such a stunt would fall under the category of "false advertising," which is illegal and which companies can get sued for, and can lose a lot of money over.

They would have to be seriously retarded to do something like that, which they are not. Remember that this is a company run by adults that think about the consequence of actions like that.

^This.

NO company would be so stupid, or at least I hope to god that isn't the case.

Besides, they've shown screenshots so unless this is a VERY elaborate joke on Nintendo's part, I think it's safe to say that Heart Gold (same ass name that one though) and Soul Silver are definatley official and coming out.

If this is a bluff then why have they spent valuable time to make a great game like this?
Come on i mean that's a bit of a way to go...Making some screenshots to excite the public then saying it's a bluff.
I don't think it is a bluff...

The games are here for stay because if it wasn't, Nintendo wouldn't have shown all the Heart Gold and Soul Silver images. Nintendo would have a bad name if this was all a joke. This game is the official remake because they have shown images, gave us news, shown new Lugia and Ho-oh art, and much more. They have also shown us some new pokemon sprites, such as Chikorita's sprite. I wouldn't have been happy if this was all a joke, but as some of us know, it isn't a joke.

Whoever did say this isn't the real remake, it was probably a false rumor.

It wouldn't leave a very good mark for Nintendo nor GameFreak, or the Pokémon Company. For one, it'll definitely leave a large percentage of people upset and lost in trust for the franchise if they were to be false information given by GameFreak themselves. Not only that, but it'll sure make them lose a lot of money for nothing, because all their news that come out aren't always free to publish to the public. Also, it would be kind of strange, seeing they've never done anything like this before, and will disrupt their next game plans because of the lost of trust from fans.

Though, I'm pretty sure that the games aren't false rumor and that they are very authentic to believe in. It wouldn't seem like anything the company would do to their fans. Plus, for right now, they know a remake of a once popular game ten years ago will have huge sales for them. Which for GameFreak and Nintendo, they would never let that slide past them.

I hate to be rude, Wisher, but that is probably the stupidest idea I've ever heard. I mean listen to yourself!

You are saying that a trusted company might be playing a mean trick on its customers by saying that a game they have been looking forward for years is finally coming out. And you're saying they're doing it at a time OTHER than April Fools day. If that were the case, it would not only be cruel, it may also be criminal. No company is THAT stupid.

The only way this can be fake news, is if someone hacked into the GameFreak system and released new such as this, which is very unlikely. Though, still to me it is more than believable, especially seeing how they pay every Sunday for the short television show releasing new videos and pictures.

Yes and it'd be pretty hard to hack into the GameFreak system.

Also, if the news were false how would those videos from Japan be showing all those new Lugia and Ho-oh pictures along with some of the images of it?

I really doubt they're making this all up.
Look at all the people who are willing to
buy HG/SS. How can they refuse all that
extra cash.

Nintendo now GameFreak would be that cruel and fool their millions of players and lose out on cash like that, which is what the post above has a good point on.

This is just a stupid thread.. almost as bad as trolling.

QFT. I half-suspect that the original post is an attempt at semi-trolling, just tossing out an intentionally dumb idea to watch people respond to it. I'd kinda hoped that by getting in and replying first about how that idea isn't logically plausible in the least, it might've slowed down many other people from responding... Evidently, I was wrong.

And also...

I hate to be rude, Wisher, but that is probably the stupidest idea I've ever heard. I mean listen to yourself!

Yes, thank you.

It may strongly be the brightest of news, but still it never hurts someone to think something up and ask to see what others may think of it.

Though, sticking to the thread, no it isn't fake news. I mean, they've gone so far with the news even if it isn't much, that they really can't afford to say, "Ha Ha, we fooled you!"

Exactly, GameFreak and Nintendo together, more over GameFreak though, would go from millions to almost nothing in just a short period of time, jsut by creating their audience to believe something that isn't real.

I'd die a bit (no, more of a chunk) inside if that were the case. Luckily, we all know Nintendo and Game Freak aren't that kind of company. :classic:

^ And we only hope they don't become like that either. Though, it would be a bad reputation on their behalf to do something that drastic just to have more time to work on a newer Gen and mislead us with false information.

Guys, regardless of whether you think the topic is stupid, dumb, trolling whatever, keep your comments to yourself, seriously. If you really think that way, report it and move on, there's no need to punch the guy in the mouth with disrespectful comments. I mean, I know where you all are coming from, but it isn't helping. Think for a minute. Report button or stomp all over him? Your choice.

Anyway, it's blatantly obvious why I'm locking this thread.

Locked.
