4th Gen HeartGold/SoulSilver Speculation

I never noticed any real difference in the difficulty level between G2 and the other generations...since when has a Pokémon game really been "challenging"?

Well, seeing as what they are doing, I can pretty reassure you there will be a lot of things that are new, and perhaps, just maybe, higher levels could be one of them.

Yes, that will be my dream. lol. :3

@White Lancer(?): Challenging as a Level 60 Typhlosion can't beat the whole game by it's self, or with it's clones. As in they need to raise the levels a bit in this remakes, that's all I mean.

Compared to other games, Gold and Silver were definitely a lot easier to play. For one levels were low, they extended us to go to Kanto but it was really like a dead zone in a way, and then when you even look at RBY, it seems there was more to it, and a more of a fun game to play with a bit more challenge that GSC had brought in. This is what I think though, because the challenge of the game varies between each person playing the game.

Yea it most likely depends on the person, because it varies how people raise their teams and such. So some people could have found it very easy, while others took a little more effort getting through the game.

... Challenging as in no lvl 9 Pidgeotto for heaven's sake. =x
You have to admit in the original GSC there were so many under leveled evolutions it was ridiculous.. if they at least change that I'll be satisfied.

For me, in Crystal, because I never got to play the original Gold and Silver, it was very easy as I got to beat the game with Feraligtr alone. So maybe it'll change this time, and I'll use an entire team of six for HeartGold and SoulSilver.

Trust me, they raise levels, I'd be content just as much.

I don't even remember my original team, but I do know that I basically super-trained Typhlosion and wiped out everything in my path. I think like the rest of my Pokémon were just HM Slave.I love Falkner's Lv.9 Pidgeotto it was fun, and easy to beat. ^^;

There are quite a lot of improvements that could be made to the game, that one is for sure. I mean with the change of levels it doesn't mess up the storyline or the originality of the game either. So, I think it'll be a safe alternation as well as bringing up the level of difficulty.

Not to mention the Lv. 4 Staravia, Luxio, and Bibarel appearance as well. So, it looks as though GameFreak wouldn't care to much if they Pokémon were underleveled evolutions, but at least for the game's sake bring it up just a few notches.

I don't find any issue with wild Pokemon being under leveled evos, only Gym Leaders/Trainers.
It's too easy that way.
. it especially sucks when you are really wanting exp from the battle. =/

Hey I have been wondering recently, how do you guys think the Fight, Run, Bag, and Pokemon buttons will be in a battle? I wouldn't mind it being the same way as Platinum's own, but there could be a change.

I'm pretty sure the battle option on the touch screen would be very similar to that of Platinum. As for the underleveled Gyms, I say for the first Gym, for his Pigeot, they can at least make it Lv. 17. They actually did that for Gary's Pigeot in FRLG when you battle him in Cerulean City.

Oh yes, and also the option to rebattle Gym Leaders pl0x.
That would be awesome.

I think it'll be like D/P/P's maybe just a different color scheme, I loved Platinum's F/R/P/B, so if it's like that I won't mind.

I liked the idea how the Battle TouchScreen would change color for every different location you are in, so it'll be a nice tough for the GSDS games, that is for sure.

If they allow us to rematch the gyms, then yes, it'll have to wicked strong, because the Johto Gyms deserve it, as well as those in Kanto.

A different color scheme would be a nice touch. I wouldn't know which colors to put, but it would be pretty cool to have a different set of colors for the buttons.

Yeah, the levels were a lot lower in GSC, but if you play the game like I do and not really train against wild Pokémon it's about the same level of difficulty as the other games because you'll be a similar level relative to your opponents as you were in the others. While it would make sense to upgrade the levels a bit, I think lower-leveled trainers is a small price to pay to include a whole other region (although the E4 definitely need to be stronger after you defeat Kanto).

I can compare G/S/C to the games that I'm playing right now, Emerald and LeafGreen. The only training against wild Pokémon that I've done was to get any new additions to my team up to speed, like I do in any game. I defeated the E4 easily in LeafGreen without ever having to train up my team against wild Pokémon (and this is with Pokémon with completely mismatched Natures), and I am currently in Sootopolis in Emerald and haven't had a tough battle yet. It's really not that tough to beat a game using only a single Pokémon because that one Pokémon will grow up levels faster since it won't be splitting its EXP with anyone else. I remember sweeping the original games with Blastoise when I was a newbie at the games and didn't know what I was doing.

You have a very good point there.
It's very true it's a small price to pay, but who is to say Kanto will even be included in GSDS?
Though it makes sense to include it since the originals had it there is no confirmation about it yet.

Nintendo could get lazy.. you never know.

Thus, updated Pokemon levels ftw. (b'u')b

Personally, I think kanto could be included. Johto and Kanto are the only region connected and i wouldn't mind having a 3D kanto, with even more places to explore to it makes the game more lively. But what if they want to remake R/B/G/Y again? Theres already a 3D counterpart on the DS with Johto(assuming they do go ahead and add kanto to GSDS). It could be possible or it couldn't. I remain neutral at this point whether Kanto will be added.
