Lol, it opens if you beat the elite four. XD

I defeated the Rockets in the Goldenrod Tower. I didn't expect it at all, but they disbanded immediately. wtf. The REAL Rockets were more stubborn than that.

Anyways, since I never played this game before I don't know what to do, so I'll try my luck in getting to Blackthorn City. You know, I got there without any trainers challenging me. Anyways, I thought the city was inside the mountain and I realized that it wasn't, but inside the cave was an Ice Path. The puzzles were easy, but I'm glad, unlike in the Emerald shoal cave, that no Pokemon appears every time you go into a hard ground. I also got all the Pokebalsl lying around there.

Anyways, look! Blackthorn City. Finally, the Move Deleter. And, try to challenge the Gymleader. Beaten all the Gym Trainer, and now off to battle Claire.

Lmao, just messing around.

I gots all 8 badges of johto.
Umbreon-lvl 43
Jirachi-lvl 41
Lapras-lvl 40
Bayleaf-lvl 40

Why do i HAVE to battle Lugia? T.T It's not right to just battle him right after he probably just woke up...The Kimono girls did say:What i did next was up to me....Why cant i just leave after? LET ME LEAVE, LYRA! (Good thing i saved after the cutscene XD )

I've just been reliably informed by my friend that my copy I ordered from play-asia has finally arrived, so looks like I'll be starting later today!

Welll I finally beat Red last night, along with capturing Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres AND Latias. Great success for me. =P
Oh and before my battle with Red I found a Male Larvitar lvl. 20 and a Female Larvitar lvl. 20. It's likely I'll be training them today along with my Squirtle I got from Professor Oak.

And just 30 minutes ago my Espeon found a Shiny Leaf. =]

While checking my pokegear, I put the cursor over Mahogany town, and to my surprise, the description says:
A town with a suspicious air to it. It's a hiding place for ninjas.
I lol'ed.
EDIT: Also I caught a chinchou and a corsola on the 'Beyond the sea' pokewalker course!

SoulSilver update:

After training my team I went back to Clair again. It was quite a tough battle, but exciting! Today I went through Victory Road, and as I was about to walk outside, my rival appeared. We had a battle, and his team was leveled up since last time!

Currently I'm in the Elite Four.

From here on out I'm exaggerating my journey a bit to make it sound more exciting. lol
After a heavy confrontation with the Gyrados Twins, Taichi set foot upon land. A bit disappointed that he only caught the red one and not both of them, he walked off of the Lake of Rage until a man with really spikey came to the Lake of Rage with a very big orange dragon. Taichi looked at his Pokedex as it informed him on the Pokemon called Dragonite. Lance then commented on Taichi's battle with the Gyrados twins and asked him for his help taking down some radio signal. Taichi told Lance that he is honored but would have to pass for the moment.
Taichi along with his Flaaffy Agu, ran towards the Mahogany Gym, but unfortunately, the heavy fat kid blocking the entrance was still sleeping and hadn't woken up yet. Taichi and Agu sighed and head towards the Inn-like house nearby. He stepped in the door and ZAPP!! Lance's Dragonite attacked a man as Lance himself made his way down some hidden stairs. The cashier and injured guy looked terrified at such a being. Taichi freaked out also and ran off.
Agu looked at his friend with a blank look. Taichi then had a determined look in his eyes. "Don't worry Agu, we'll get stronger. We're going to Olivine for now. Atleast until that sleeping kid wakes up. We'll come back though" Taichi reassured his Pokemon. He then threw his Pokeball, out came a Sudowoodo. "Hey Kasshoku, can you surf us across to Olivine City?" Taichi asked. Sudowoodo nodded to his trainer. As the three we're going to Olivine City, Taichi looked back on how Kasshoku conquered it's fear of water by learning how to surf. Kasshoku was very big importance to catching one of the Gyrados twins, the one Taichi named Dragoon.
"We'll be fine guys.."Taichi told the two.

After three days, I've made quite a bit of progress in my journey through Johto - taking my time through it all. Like planned, I had gotten my Heracross and Aipom up to level with the rest of my Pokémon and I had gotten ready to challenge Goldenrod City's cute gym leader, Whitney. Challenging her wasn't as difficult as I originally thought. Aipom took care of Clefairy fairly well, regardless of being immobilized by love with Whitney's Pokémon. Not long after, came out her Miltank, which is what made me uneasy at first, so I decided to send out Heracross - who had recently learned Brick Break. Within two turns, her last Pokémon was down and her Plain Badge was mines (after the tears of course). -_- It wasn't long until I left the Gym and picked up the Squirtbottle to move that wiggly tree out of the way more north.

Moving along, I ended up arriving to Ecruteak City in good time, while getting in some decent training for the next gym battle against Morty. While running around here and there I helped out the kimono girl in the Dance Theater who was being harassed by an awfully smelly Team Rocket Grunt. XD; (he was smelly to me considering he had his Koffing use Poison Gas against me.)

... anyway, beyond that I also took a look inside the old "Bell" Tower and found the gym leader alongside his friend, Eusine who is still in search of Suicune. After taking care of that act, and demolishing Silver, I got to take a close look at the three Legendary Beasts. While the fun was kept short, my Pokémon and I were soon ready to challenge Morty.

During the battle, Aipom and his Astonish handled Ghastly and Hautner well, but against Gengar, it was challenging. Morty's Gengar practically wiped out all my Pokémon except for Heracross near the end, who I wasn't planning to really use as none of his moves are super effective against Gengar. Regardless, standing in just a little more, Gengar was defeated and when I thought it was all over, Morty pulled out another Haunter that completely skipped my mind. Luckily, I was able to heal up Heracross and finish the match by a close call. My hardest challenge thus far.

While traveling towards Olivine City to continue my journey, I ran upon a wild Tauros. With a little edge of difficulty I ended up catching it and have plans to probably train it in the future. It's a hasty nature which is quite decent if need be.

Now, currently I'm in Olivine City right outside the Lighthouse. I'm prepared to do some extra training here, continue my travels, and see what happens next. I still need to think up two new Pokémon to add to my team before it gets difficult to train the latter, but that will come soon hopefully.

Note: I also have Geodude and Paras on my team, however, they are HM Slaves and not part of my main team.

Party
1. Bayleef (Ginger)
2. Flaafy (Beacon)
3. Granbull (Poncho)
4. Pineco (Spruce)
5. Natu (Seri)
6. Lapras, only temporary for the use of Surf. Until I get a Horsea.

-Levels of main party, not Lapras, range from 23 to 30. Lapras is level 20, which is the original level.
-Beat Morty
-Caught Timid Natu at Ruin's of Alph, named it Seri.
-Its Friday, talked to Freida and caught Lapras.
-Waiting for my friend to catch up, he's in Goldenrod. Got Natu in my Pokewalker, going grocery shopping later, lol.

I've got three badges now, and ever since last posting, I have hatched a Timid Nasty Plot Smoochum (whom I nicknamed Marie) and caught a Relaxed Pineco in Ilex Forest. Now, I'm desperately searching for another team member in Mt. Mortar; I'm crossing my fingers for a Marill to appear soon.

Afterwards, I will probably go to the Burnt Tower and reset for an Entei with a decent Hidden Power. :P

Current Party:

Marie (Smoochum) - Lv. 17
Luke (Pineco) - Lv.18
Kangaskhan (just a random HM slave) - Lv. 8

okie dokie I'll start my travel journal now I guess.

Settled for a female Cyndaquil, which I named Cyndi (if you rearrange her name, it still says "Cindy)
Caught a Spearow
Cleared the Sprout Tower, defeated Falker

And now heading to the next town
...Oh and I've got 3 mouth sor- MAGGIE STOP CHEWING MY SLIPPAR!!!! (maggie's mah dog....)

Coming up with my own strategy I finally had enough coins to add a Dratini which I promptly named Damien (my first male Dratini for that matter).
After that I resumed grinding in preparation for fighting Whitney dropping Damien off at the Daycare while I trained the others. Also hunted for a ditto since the team I will eventually take to the Elite Four involves Espeon and Umbreon.
With a little more trouble than suspected I landed a level 10 Ditto now known as Delila.
I then resumed grinding and of course now I was running into Dittos left and right.
After grinding some I decided to go take on Whitney. Using a combination of my Starie, my Staryu, and Damien I was able to take down her and the gym trainers with a
little difficulty.
Headed north for the Pokeathalon facility. Stopped to take a photo with Cameron on the way.
Arrived and pulled my Veronat and Odysseus, my male Oddish, out of storage, and together with Damien competed in the speed course three times managing to win one of those times.

The Normal Gym and the Dragon Gym were the toughest for me. I was under leveled at the 3rd Gym and she beat me. I came back and it was actualy harder because now she was using attract.

With Clair she faited most of my team. I used a Max Revive on Faraligatr (Mr. Face). I would have lost but then Clair started to use Hyper Beam. Those free turns allowed me to win.

Now I need massive level grinding to beat the elite four. Shuks.

I won't get into too much detail, since I'm still at the beginning and almost everyone knows what you have to go through early on in the game.

Well, the first thing I did was choose totodile as a starter. Then I played up until you can trade (After you acquire pokeballs and can catch another pokemon.) and traded to my platinum version. That meant that I have 2 starters from Gen II, so I could start my real file on SoulSilver with the other starter.

This time I chose cyndaquil as my starter pokemon. Then I went through all the beginning stuff you have to do to get to Violet City. I caught a geodude at some point along the way, and named it Rocky (Though I realized it was a female after naming it :/). I also caught a Hoothoot (Is that it's name? For some reason it doesn't sound right) just for the sake of sending it to the pokewalker.

After that, I decided to go clear out sprout tower. I got to the top and faced Elder Li (I never realized the joke before, that his name is Elderly! lol). He was easy. I can't remember if it was before or after facing him, but either way I caught a ghastly at some point. Named her "Boo!". Then I moved on to the gym, which was also pretty easy. The design is cool, but I'm hoping the puzzles are different than the original ones.

Hey guys, I've never raised a Bellsprout before, but I just caught one and I'd thought I'd make it my grass pokemon of choice, anybody raised a Bellsprout before, and if so, at what level would you recommend me evolving it with the leaf stone

I've raised a Bellsprout before, I would suggest waiting until it learns Razor Leaf at level 39 before you evolve it as Victreebel doesn't learn any more moves until it learns Leaf Storm at Level 47, you could evolve it before level 39 if you have a decent grass type tm you can teach it (e.g Solar beam, Grass Knot etc)

Progress Update:

I haven't made alot of progress since yesterday as I found the Game Corner and have been addicted to the Voltorb Flip game, I also won the stamina event at the Pokeathlon with my Steelix, I lost the Speed event there though, I battled all of the trainers in the underground and eventually made my way to Ectruteak City.

When I arrived in Ecruteak city I spoke to Bill at the Pokemon Centre and healed my pokemon, after that I headed to the Kimono Girl's place and battled the Rocket Grunt there, I went to the burned tower after that where I spoke to Eusine and Morty, I battled the rival and headed down to the basement where I encountered the three legendary dogs, I spoke to Eusine again and finally left the tower.

I headed to the gym and battled all of the trainers in there, I lost to Morty (unsurprising considering I didn't heal beforehand), I'm going to train my team to level 27 tomorrow and try again.

My Team;

Quilava Lv24
Sunflora Lv23
Misdreavus Lv24
Steelix Lv23
