HeartGold/SoulSilver - Travel Journal

Wow...that was certainly the hardest fight of the game so far. Morty was destroying me!!

First off, he sent out his Gastly, which I took care of with Dratini. She managed to defeat it easily enough with Dragon Rage, when Morty sent out Gengar. Thinking that Sableye would be more suited to this opponent, I switched my Pokemon. Sableye didn't even get a chance to take off any health -- one Shadow Ball and he was down! Okay, now I started to panic. My key fighter in this battle was down...

I took out Croconaw, what with him being my strongest Pokemon. In the panic, I forgot he had Bite, so I used Ice Fang and Surf before using Bite to bring Gengar down into the red. A few Sucker Punches and a Shadow Ball and another Poke fainted. Bought out Growlithe, who got badly injured by Shadow Ball but managed to 'Bite' Gengar to unconsciousness.

Now then, I thought, with Gengar down the rest will be a cakewalk. Oh how wrong I was. The stupid Haunter managed to take out Growlithe with a Hypnosis/Dream Eater combo. I sent out Dratini, who also got taken out with this combination. With only Flaaffy and Pidgeotto left, I was worried. Flaaffy managed to get the Haunter in the red with some ThunderShock's and a Paralyze status effect, but once again Dream Eater/Hypnosis won out. Should have packed some Awakenings...just Pidgeotto left. Argh. One Gust and the Haunter was down. I thought I was done for when the last Haunter used Curse to take its health down to half. A critical Gust from Pidgeotto and the Haunter was dead! I am very proud of my Pidgeotto right now :)

Only got a few more badges myself, lots of work!

In short I-
1. Beat all eight Gym Leaders
2. Beat first four members of Elite Four
3. Realised at last minute that I didn't have a way to beat Lance so had to teach Dragon Pulse to Lugia to win that one
4. Got 3 Kanto badges.

Team
Typhlosion LV 49
Lugia LV49
Alakazam LV 49- with TwistedSpoon
Ampharos LV50
Machamp LV50- with Macho Brace
Golem LV51- with Quick Claw

Just lost to Lance, going to train a bit and retry the Elite Four.

Levels range from 41-46

Pokemon are in my signature.

Beaten Bugsy on HeartGold (Expert Mode), i'm going to give that one a rest for now until the next beta is released (trainer levels only balanced until Whitney), i'm going back onto SoulSilver for a bit more training at the Elite 4

Feraligatr Lv66
Houndoom Lv65
Magnezone Lv64
Gengar Lv65
Mamoswine Lv67
Lugia Lv65

I'm going to keep re-battling the elite 4 / gym leaders etc until my team reaches Level 75 (give or take a few levels)

- Beat Jasmine, easily with Typhlosion.
- Beat the ice-dude, easily with Typhlosion and Laturn.
- Beat Team Rocket.
- Got the Silver Wing.
- Went around and collected apricorns and turned them all into PokeBalls at once, yay time trick.
- Messed around in the PW course, the Yellow Forest one. Caught three Pikachu, none with any special moves. However, I did find a Light Ball, Thunderstone, and Big Root and transferred them over.
- Caught a Delibird for some reason.
- Went through all the caves that restricted by Surf and trained.
- Am now in Ice Cave (is that what it's called? I cant be bothered to check myself by tapping a screen.)

My team is:

Typhlosion Level 40
Weavile Level 40
Cherrim Level 40
Laturn Level 40
Shiny Crobat Level 40

Seven badges, played for almost 29 hours. lol

I just reached Olivine and realised I'm nowhere near strong enough to take on Chuck, so I picked up the SecretPotion and I'm going to train in between here and Cianwood.

My team:
Croconaw - Lv. 28
Flaaffy - Lv. 28
Pidgeotto - Lv. 28
Shiny Vulpix - Lv. 27
Paras - HM Slave
Totodile - HM Slave

My slaves are just there to take the place of planned members Sneasel and Teddiursa.
I'm aiming for at least Lv. 30 across the board in order to take on Chuck, and hoping that Shiny Vulpix can hold her own against Jasmine.

I also played around with Yellow Forest, I racked up 11000 steps (I have a friend who's training for a triathlon, so I ask her to take it during the day :D ) but failed to find any Pikachu with special moves.

I tried to breed my Shiny Vulpix but three eggs all held regular Vulpix. :(

I'm majorly underleveled and annoyed.

I've got level 27's across the board and I only JUST managed to scrape a win from Jasmine with my temporary Geodude. I really need a Ground-type. The swin-line looks good, especially to take on Clair.

When Event Pokemon are stronger than you, you know you've got a problem.

I'm also trying to decide between Gyarados and Qwilfish...coverage or power?

Just about to enter Victory Road and do some heavy training for the Elite Four and that Rival Battle.

I'm training my Pokemon for the elite four on Pokemon SoulSilver:

1. Dunsprace (M) Level45 [Normal type]
Return (Normal), Earthquake (Ground), Rage (Normal), and Dig (Ground).

2. Feraligater (M) Level46 [Water type]
Bite (Dark), Crunch (Dark), Ice Fang (Ice), Surf (Water).

3. Ampharos (F) Level45 [Electric type]
Signal Beam (Bug), ThunderPunch (Electric), Discharge (Electric), Thunder Wave (Electric).

4. Sunflora (F) Level45 [Grass type]
Razor Leaf (Grass), Leaf Storm (Grass), GrassWhistle (Grass), SolarBeam (Grass).

5. Togetic (F) Level45 [Normal/Flying type]
Extrasensory (Physic), AncientPower (Rock), Fly (Flying), Metronome (Normal).

6. Misdreavus (F) Level 41 [Ghost type]
Shadow Ball (Ghost), Psywave (Physic), Psybeam (Physic), Confuse Ray (Ghost).

I think I want to get my entire team up to level 50 before I go to fight the Elite Four... what do you guys think?

Took a one week break. Gonna sync up my 2000 some wats that I got.

Where's a good place to train up to level 50-55 from levels 36- Anyone know?

Victory Road is a great place to train...
Even the route before it is a great spot to go through a barrage of trainers.

If you are really desperate, load up the Pokemon you wanna train, and walk around for about 10000 steps... you'll level up once... DON'T FORGET to use the Dowsing Machine to look for Rare Candies on your PokeWalker...

- Beat Claire, she was easy as my Weavile knew Avalanche and my Lanturn knew Thunderwave. :3
- Got Extremespeed Dratini.
- Beat the Komono Girls.
- Caught a Hasty Lugia on the 8th Dusk Ball, so it's good that I didn't waste time and money catching it.
- Went through the first routes in Kanto, and through Victory Road.
- Easily beat my rival.
- Am now saved at the beginning of the E4, as I want to sleep and do that tomorrow.

My team for the E4 is..

Cherrim Level 44
Lanturn Level 43
Typhlosion Level 43
Lugia (Don't judge me) Level 45
Shiny Crobat Level 43
Weavle Level 43

I want to be a bit underleveled for it, to make it more challenging. :]

Beat the Elite Four tonight.
Checked out the new "Object Arrangement" function of the Safari Zone.
Boarded the S.S. Aqua, helped out a sailor and an irritating little girl.
Arrived in Kanto, Vermilion to be exact.
Talked to everyone in the town and reminisced over the beautiful, nostalgic music.
Called it a night.
^_^

I got all 16 badges, and I'm just exploring Kanto / Johto now... Gotta go pick up Ho-oh, and train for my Red Battle.

[simple-spoil=Pokemon Soul Silver Events]
Spoiler:
[/simple-spoil]

Team...
LV 64 Lugia
LV 61 Typhlosion
LV 59 Pikachu (With Volt Tackle)
LV 74 Lapras (LOL, 2 days with the pokewalker, got up 30 levels at LEAST)
LV 48 Scyther
LV 5 Paras (My HM-Patsy; Rock Smash, Cut, Flash(Not HM) and something else I forget...)

Finally had time to play this week. Not a lot, but some.

I caught a male Nidoran on my PokeWalker, and it gained one level while on there. Sent it over to my game and spent most of the night raising it up to a now level sixteen Nidorino. Also looked for a few Pokemon I was missing for my Pearl dex.

The rest of the time I had to play I spent playing Voltorb Flip and losing horribly. I was trying for a Dratini, but it would probably be easier to just trade one over from my Pearl game.

The plan is now to continue on to Olivine City, since I finally have a non-Fire Pokemon that can fight against Steel-types.

If you need to get a Dratini EARLY in the game, trading it would be the best method to obtain it, though if you don't mind waiting 7 and a half badges into the game, you can just catch one at Dragon's Den... OR, just get the special Extremespeed Dratini from the Dragon Elder...

Got six Kanto badges.
Here's mt team if anyone's, interested.
Ampharos LV53
Alakazam LV53- with TwistedSpoon
Golem LV52- with Quick Claw
Muscle LV52- with Macho Brace
Typhlosion LV53- with Charcoal
