Welcome to PC, Yoshin! Good to have you here with us. :) Your intro's actually totally fine so no worries, I honestly love Totodile myself. He's been one of my favorite water starters for years! Though in my very first playthrough of G/S I chose Chikorita before anything else.
If you're working on a ROM hack then you should definitely utilize the Emulation & ROM Hacking board. It has a pretty great hacking questions thread where you can ask for assistance on smaller issues as well as a Tutorials subforum for guides and resources among other things.. you'll find plenty there so be sure to stick around and work at it. If you have a storyline idea in mind you're more than welcome to tell us in the storyline idea thread, too, so there's another suggestion if you're interested!
Hopefully your journey here has been going well so far. :'o If you're lost be sure to contact a member of staff. The Emulation moderators are quite busy but they're glad to help if you have concerns about the hacking board so don't be afraid to shoot them a message. Cheers!
