Hello, everyone! I'm new to PokeCommunity and this is my first visit, so please be kind and supportive! My first encounter with Pokémon was in 2016 when I played a hacked version of Pokémon FireRed on an emulator. It was straightforward, essentially letting me choose my favorite anime character as my starter Pokémon, and I had a blast. Later, I discovered the original Pokémon Pikachu and Crystal, completing them both on an emulator, enjoying those adventures just as much. From that point on, I've been aspiring to create my own monster-catching game, craving my very own adventure. Unfortunately, due to certain events (to put it simply, within another Pokémon hacking and fan-game community, I located an outdated yet simple Pokémon fan-game engine, translated it into my native language, only to face public mockery from another translator of a competing engine), I lost the drive to continue and my affection for Pokémon waned. But now, I've resolved to return. I shouldn't let one person's bitterness towards Pokémon impact me so heavily; perhaps a change in community will do me good.
(Quick note: The following part contains a bit of promotion. If moderators or anyone finds it unsuitable, I deeply apologize and am willing to remove this section if requested.)
On a side note, during this period, I came across Tuxemon, a fully open-source monster-catching game under Creative Commons, which I grew quite fond of. I've even translated parts of it into my language (though it's only a portion at present). I believe Tuxemon addresses what I felt was lacking in Pokémon, and since Tuxemon encourages free modification, I've decided to develop a Tuxemon-based fan-game in the future.
Thank you for taking the time to read all this!
