[Intro] Hello fellow pokèrs!

What's up guys I am Daniel Mark, I've been checking the site out for a long time and finally plucked up the courage to sign up and speak to everyone!

I'm 33, married with 2 boys from the UK!

I play all main line games, my favourite game is Platinum. I really enjoy the dark undertones to the story and the gen introduced some of my favourite Pokèmon, Empoleon, Hippowdown and my 2 favourite Pokèmon Giratina and Darkrai, I guess you could say they are my spirit mons!
I also play rom hacks, I'm currently on my first playthrough of Unbound but I have played Red Chapter and Outlaw! I would love to have storyline input on a rom hack one day!

I watch a lot of Pokemon stuff on YouTube and I decided to try it out for myself one day and it turns out I really enjoy doing it! I am starting playthroughs of all the mainline games, I won't post any links in here as I'm new and don't want to break any rules that I might have missed! But yeah, I'm not doing it for fame or anything, I just really enjoy doing this, despite it being way way way out of my comfort zone and I just want people to feel as good as I do when I'm watching!

As a day job I work as a ticket inspector (blergh!) but I'm always looking forward to the next time I pick up a console to play Pokèmon!

Anyway, I've rambled on way too much here! Nice to meet you all and I hope we cross paths soon!

Anyway, you've got good taste in a favorite pokemon game with platinum that's for sure.
Oh, and on account of it being a custom here, I think I'm supposed to ask you a question, so I'll go with
what originally got you into pokemon?

Thank you for the welcome! Yeah I like to think Platinum is one of if not the best out there. Pity they didn't just include all of the extras in the BDSP remakes. I have seen there's a fan made one but I haven't got round to seeing how that all works just yet.

I originally found Pokemon through a school friend who I traded a bunch of gameboy games with and it was Pokemon Red that was my first game and subsequently I found out about there being a TV series. I did miss a couple of seasons out but I'm currently burning through the back catalogue and I'm on Johto Journeys!

I played a bit of BD/SP, I didn't really get that far in though. (mostly because I was hoping in vain for a Platinum remake)
I though the D/P remakes were okay enough though.

Nice, Red's a classic for sure. My first pokemon game was Yellow, but I was much too little when I got it to go very far.
(I though status lowering moves were permanent lol)

I've never seen the show myself, though I'd imagine it's pretty good on account of how popular it is.

Oh! One more question from me for fun, what is your favorite pokemon type?

Nice pokémon indeed! I personally like Giratina's form with Griseous Orb a lot!
I hope you enjoyed playing these ROM hacks! Have you also tried some fan games ?

Hi, welcome to PC! Nice to see you making an account :)

There are a lot of people around our age here, so you're in good company. Many old fans, but also mixed in with a younger crowd. I approve of your fav game pick, it's certainly one of my favs too if not the best :D Have you tried Pokémon Crown?

It's fine to put links to your channels / accounts on other sites in your signature (which you can edit here). Doing things for fun is often the best reason, I hope it keeps you going. And that your kids fall in love with pokémon too, of course! I know I'll force it upon mine from a young age, hehe.

My favourite types are dark and fire, something menacing and powerful about them and the moves they come with. I will admit I am trying to dive more into poison type as I am trying to be more tactical with my approach rather than brute force! :')

As to picking a starter based on type? I will admit that I do usually pick water or fire types but in Shield I had to pick Grokey as I knew his evolution was amazing. Sadly for the grass type same can't be said for S/V and I went with the awesome Fuecoco!
