Hello, how's it going?

Hi! My name is DragonEye (DragonEye37 if you play Minecraft). I've been a pokemon fan since I want to say, 2009? I'm 24, currently between jobs but I'm trying to break into the web development field. I only recently learned this community exists, I saw a YouTube short about the fan game, Pokemon The New Order, and found the post on this forum when I was trying to find more information on it and how to download. Kid me would've adored a community like this, and due to some issues with transportation (I have a driver's license but no car, and I also live in the US and I don't live in one of the three cities in my state that actually has a bus system) so making friends has been a bit difficult since I completed school. I also didn't have many friends who were in to pokemon growing up, so I'm hoping to make friends with like-minded individuals who share one of the few hobbies of mine that have stayed with me since childhood. I look forward to meeting you all! Don't hesitate to reach out or respond to one of my posts if you wanna talk :)

Thanks for the warm welcome! A childhood friend of mine introduced me to pokemon, she showed me her cards and her games, and to me at least she was super cool. Once I saved enough to get a DS, I got soul silver as part of a deal where I got to get my first DS game for free when I bought the system, been obsessed with the series ever since.

I can see why you would think that lol, and while dragon types are super cool, I've had other types as my favorite. For the longest time I was obsessed with fire types, I always chose the fire starter as a kid whenever I started a new game. Loved the DoT moves they got, the great attack power, plus I've been kinda obsessed with fire in genreal for as long as I can remember. As I've gotten older and have had time to play around with other types, I gotta say my fav rn is grass types. I've always loved playing as healer characters in games, and a lot of grass types have awesome healing abilities. Currently playing a couple fan games, in one I have a Roselia on my team, and in the other I have a Petilil as my starter. I'm obsessed with the leech seed + giga drain combo. Also using Miltank in the game where I have Petilil, and milk drink with Miltank's beefy stats has been awesome! Especially when I run out of healing items lol

Did you know another neat Grass type combo ? Serperior with Leaf Storm, and the Contrary Ability who turns the effect from lowering Sp. Atk. two stages, to rising it two stages each turn it is used! Making an already powerful move more and more devastating!

Hi! I noticed some of your stuff while perusing the forum, it's nice to meet you! I didn't actually know that, I used Serperior when I played BW, but it never occured to me that Superior's Contrarian could be used with Leaf Storm for an OP combo, mine had overgrowth and I never really looked into its competitive viability. That's pretty cool! :D And did you know you can do something similar with close combat? I remember seeing a YouTube video that used a move to transfer Contrarian to a pokemon with close combat to raise its defensive stats. It's so cool what you can do with different pokemon!

That's a good point, pair that with a big root and Serperior is getting a ton of health back

Yes, I do, I was into battling competitively for a while there, but got bored with breeding lol. One of these days I'll get back into it.

Are you talking about dual typing, or what types I'll put on my team? If dual typing, then poison since the DoT pairs well with leech seed. If we're talking the full team, then I just go for whatever types can counter each other's weaknesses well.

Love Malamar, I need to build a competitive team with it one of these days. Didn't know Lurantis could learn superpower, I'm going to have to mess around with it.
