Hello, I'm new here and semi new to pokemon

I watched the cartoon back in the 90s for a short period of time then never really thought about it again. With that being said I have a sudden urge to start checking it out again. I'd like to get into the Pokemon gaming and whatnot. Whats the best place to start?
