I've been browsing these forums for a little bit but have seen how friendly people tend to be here and decided to register and say "hi!" I started playing with the original pokémon games (yes, I'm old) and have loved pokémon ever since. I maintain a living pokédex (and have everything pre-DLC--haven't gotten to it yet), so if you'd like me to breed you any of the breedable pokémon or touch-trade other ones, let me know! Oh, I also don't care about shinies and have a shiny Drifloon (also alpha), Dusclops, and Chansey from Pokémon: Arceus if anyone wants one for free.

Hello there Zaronji, and welcome(officially) to the PC!

Cool to hear you've got a living Dex, pretty impressive I must say!

Do you have any favorite Pokemon?

After watching its anime episode, I would definitely have to say Jigglypuff. Second would probably be Gardevoir...I always seem to add one to my team when I can. How about you?

I haven't had a proper chance to try out a Jigglypuff during a run, (never seen the anime) but I love Gardevoir!
My favorite Pokemon is Absol! It's been my favorite since Gen 6.

How about Pokemon Types? Have a favorite?

Water then Ice, you? I *always* pick the water starter in my main game. Regarding Jigglypuff,
    Spoiler:

Dark, with Ice as a close second.

Jigglypuff sounds like quite the little prankster, he could make quite a name for himself as a sleep therapist though.

Hmmm. I should save some questions for the rest of the friendly users that greet newcomers, but I'll go for one more. What's your favorite Pokemon game?

Pokemon Shield! I love Gen 8's legendary Pokemon. Interestingly, X was the game that made Absol my favorite Pokemon.

Anyway, I'll stop with the questions so the other greeters can have something to ask. I hope you enjoy your time on the PC!

Hello Zaronji, and welcome to the forums!
It is always great to see new (officially ^^) members who have been playing Pokémon since the first games (like me)!
Have you tried some fan games ? There are several great ones I could suggest if you are interested!
I, for one, am always up for new friends!

Also, you can use the "Respond" button on other users' posts, then click on the orange button at the bottom right corner to quote them and let them know you replied to them! Just make sure to have clicked on all of the "Respond" buttons you want before starting to write, as quoting deletes everything you might have previously written!

Neat, thank you for the tip! I'm not sure what you mean by fan games -- do you mean things like Nuzlocke I have read about? I've actually never tried one of those. What fan games did you have in mind? The way I usually approach these games is to play through on my "main" game with the water starter without looking up where anything is and just use whatever pokémon I find along the way. I then grab the fire starter from a friend (who always picks the fire one) and the grass one from my second game then breed a team of 5 max IV pokémon with the EVs the way I like them. The team always has the 3 starters, usually a Gardevoir!, and then whatever two others I feel like at the time, one always being a high-attack pokémon with false swipe. I then look up where everything is and speed through it. I say all this because I always find it interesting how different people approach the same game in different ways and like hearing how other people approach the games. How do all of you play?

I'm also always up for new friends!

I mean fan games, unofficial games made by fans, that you can play on computers (directly or through emulators in the case of ROM hacks). For PC fan games, I would especially suggest Zeta / Omicron, Solar Light - Lunar Dark, and my personal favourite, Insurgence! If you are into hard battles, tough challenges and hairpulling puzzles, I can also suggest Reborn!

I love fire starters (my top favourite pokémon is Charizard, always has been). Flamethrower is best move! Gardevoir is a great choice indeed with the Special Attack and the Psychic and Fairy types! False Swipe is neat! In Insurgence, I had Mew as my special wild pokémon catcher, with Thunder Cage, Sword Dance and False Swipe. I caught all the pokémon I could like that, Legendaries included!

I play for the story and characters, to explore the original region (and all of its secret places and very remote and faraway paths, to discover the fakémon (not to get started on all the Delta Pokémon in Insurgence!), and to make a foes-crushing-team of six max levels pokémon with enhanced attack stats and powerful but precise moves. One of these fan games made Gardevoir become my second favourite pokémon, and also significantly contributed in making me find and stay on PokéCommunity! ^^

Do you consider the visual look and appearance of Pokémon as an important criteria in picking them as favourites / for your team ?

I really like that the fan game helped you feel part of the community. I will have to try one sometime. I do not consider the look and appearance of pokémon at all when I pick them. How about you?

Actually, it's a character in the fan game's (Reborn) story who inspired me in creating mine, and then to join forums in which I'd share my short Pokédex entries' fact-checking! ^^
For me, their look and appearance are the prime criteria. I especially have a love for those who look like dragons, snakes, dinosaurs, and other reptiles, but also the beautiful and graceful ones like Milotic. It's neat to hear Gardevoir is also your second favourite Pokémon! May I ask what made this pokémon take second place for you ?

It started as you had said with it being psychic/fairy and having a high special attack. It appears in so many games, so I just kept using it. Eventually, its consistency in my games just made it grow on me if I'm explaining that well.

And what you said is a great example of what I like to see :) It's the same game, but you approach things mainly from a look/appearance perspective while I don't at all. I do have to agree Milotic is very graceful!

Welcome to PC! You seem to really love Pokemon, so you're in the right place.

I see you've been playing pokemon for a quite a while! my first game was sun!
Also, I see your favorite pokemon is jigglypuff, I do agree, she's great in the anime! My favorite pokemon is vaporeon, with spidops being a close second.
Water and ice are awesome types, I see why you like them! For me, I like bug and water types!
Well, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

I just need to evolve my fineon by union circle that's all

I'm around and can help you with your Finizen. I just created a union circle group with the Link Code WB0Q7J. I'm assuming that's going to work...this is actually my first time making a group, so tell me if it's not working :P (I joined a friend's group to get my Palafin.)
