I joined a couple weeks ago but never got around to this because I wasn't sure what to write. I was browsing around for a Pokemon community that enjoyed talking about the franchise without getting crazy - so many fandoms get toxic and I didn't want to have the Poke experience ruined!

I'm not much for battling because I hate the idea of animals in my care getting hurt (it's just a game and I'm fully onboard with people who are heavy into the battling side, it's just not my thing). When I play through the games, I like to overtrain my team so that I can make easy work of the NPCs and I shelter them from battling other humans that can wipe the floor with me. Pokemon has been more a zoological experience for me, getting to know and collect the different creatures. In terms of collecting, I have at least one of each Pokemon through Gen 9, and then I have some additional friends (one for every trainer in the series, one for each of my favourite musicians, one for each of my favourite sports teams [they're below], shinies, and so forth). Thanks to Pokemon HOME, I like to keep my friends with me and train them up so I can eventually have them all win the top honour in at least one of the franchise games.

Hello Eevulpes, and welcome (officially) to the forums!
    PokéCommunity's number one fact-checker here!
I understand what you mean, not everyone is into the idea of having living beings fight for sports! Pokémon are not just good at battling after all (look at the job I do ^^)!
Do you have a favourite Pokémon ?

I wish you and your friends the best of luck in winning the top honours!

Charmander was my very first, way back in 1996, so she holds a special place in my heart (and still Charmander!). I'm a big fan of any of the fox-like Pokemon: Eevee, Vulpix, Zorua. Like many people, I'm really hoping we get an Eeveelution for each type.

Neat! I started with Generation 1 too, and picked Charmander's line! Charizard has been my top favourite ever since!
The fox Pokémon are great too! I especially like the two Ninetales and Delphox! I sure would like to see evolutions for all types for Eevee. I saw some fan versions who looked great!

Hello there and welcome to the PC!

Ah, another lover of the Fox Pokemon! Wonderful to see! It's unfortunate that there's currently no game that lets us have all the different ones at once... >.> (believe me I checked lol)

Do you nickname your Pokemon at all, or just leave the names default?

There are Pokemon I catch just in the course of the game that I release, but any that become part of my permanent family get a nickname :)

In the fox house I have Anna (Vulpix), Elsa (Alolan Vulpix), Blake (Ninetales), Amelia (Alolan Ninetales), Arcus (Shiny Alolan Ninetales), Penny, Fianna, Bella (Eevees), Alison and Renard (shiny Eevees), Teardrop, Nerida, and Ariel (Vaporeons), Lucasta and Rapunzel (Jolteons), Red and Merida (Flareons), Eireen and Jasmine (Espeons), Midnight, Karen, Aisling, and Tiana (Umbreons), Folklore, Adaman, and Pocahontas (Leafeons), December, Irida, and Cinderella (Glaceons), Illusion, Darla and Gourley (Zoruas), Juniper (Hisui Zorua), Supervixen, Milano, and Vikander (Zoroarks), Kitsune (Hisui Zoroark), Serena and Vixey (Fennekins), Tod (Braixen), Alicia (Delphox), Goodnite, Valerie, Anemone, and Aurora (Sylveons), Francois (Nickit), and Lytton (Thievul)

Really nice! ^^ I try to only have one name that I always use for every Pokemon, unless it's shiny in which case I'll name it something else. But I also don't pay for HOME, so most of all my Pokemon stay separated. I also don't normally keep pre-evolutions around. The most memorable of them for me are Swindle my Thievul, Hinoe my shiny Ninetales, and Kinoto my shiny Alolan Ninetales. (the others I'd need to look to remember now, been a while since I've played any Pokemon games lol)

    Which one is your favorite?

That's like having a favourite child! haha Vikander is the most accomplished on the list - she's helped me beat quite a few gym leaders over the years!

    Hello and welcome!
Good to see someone else who loves foxes.(I love Vulpix)
You say you are not much into battling. Ever participated in contests in the games before?
I do wish the Pokemon games gave more of a focus on contests the same way with battling honestly.

    Hello!
I consider the battle spam in Pokemon games a bit of a 'necessary evil' myself. Never been that huge on it, but need to get Exp. and money somehow. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

For fox Pokemon, Vulpix/Ninetales are amazing and I consider the Fennekin line my favorite Fire starter =3
    [PokeCommunity.com] Hello!

What's your favorite or most special shiny from the shinies you have? =3

    Hiya, eevulpes!
I'm a new member of this place, and at first I didn't know what to say.
However, I thought a bit and the words came out of that brief thought. I lost most of my hesitation.
And toxic communities are bad for everyone involved, especially for those who just want to interact with people and have fun, and don't want to cause unnecessary problems.
I hope your experience in the Poké Community is different, and that you have fun interacting!
This stuff about not wanting your Pokémon to get hurt shows that you have empathy and tend to have their best interests at heart.
I'm sure your Pokémon will be safe and happy in Pokémon HOME!
Collecting Pokémon is at the heart of what Pokémon has become, and has been since its inception.
I like to catch all the Pokémon I have never seen before, I think I should know every one of them.
When I use them, the experience is different, but it's still incredible.
And it's great to meet you!

I'm a huge fan of the things that don't involve battling like the contests. I know it had mixed results in terms of feedback, but I really loved the zoology-type experience of Arceus where you went out in the field and studied the Pokemon. A lot of the tasks were repetitive, but they had some great ones like Clefairy. I don't think we could ever separate the battling aspect from a Pokemon game, but I'm hoping they increase these non-battling concepts in the future! I always over-train my Pokemon so they can win easily against the NPCs, but I also feel bad about attacking the NPC Pokemon.

Fennekin is adorable! And I hear we're due to get Fennekin as a starter option for an upcoming game!

Shinies...that's interesting because I've mostly gone after the shiny Eeveelutions but so far I only have a shiny Eevee (I have at least one of everything - like my Level 87 Metapod haha). Most of my shinies have been "accidental" encounters and then I just love them. Teddiursa was my first I think. The most special is probably a shiny Mew I lucked into during a Go event.

Hi Voyager! I've always had a good experience in the Pokemon fandom. Even among people who do focus on battling, I've only ever seen respect and friendship!
