Hi guys, Nathan here, an 18 year old new to the forums but not new to the Pokemon scene; I've been an avid fan since Yellow came out which was my first game and one I became extremely addicted to.

I know competitive mechanics like EV's, IV's and natures, but I don't regard myself as a completely competitive player. For example, my current team is made up of favourites (though favourites that are viable) and whilst for the most part OU mons, lower OU's as opposed to top of the tier.

I was also an avid chainer back in Diamond days, netting some of my favourite Pokemon as legit shinies including Eevee, Porygon and Beldum (who are a pain to catch -_-), but I haven't chained in so long that I'd probably really struggle now. That, and I'm impatient.

I'm here really to make new friends and have some less serious but still competitive battles; I was on Smogon for a while but without forcing my opinion on you all I found it to be a bit snobby and far too serious, especially when Pokemon is at the end of the day, a game. I like the fact there's a much friendlier tone here, as I've seen through lurking.

Anyway, thank you for having me and I hope to catch you all (get it?) around.

Hi there and welcome! First off got to say i really like your avatar! (once i saw it just caught my eye and i really like it :P) Anyways yes Yellow was an awesome game and after Red that was my second Pokemon game and i thoroughly enjoy playing with Pikachu. I myself never got into the whole competitive area as i usually just prefer playing with favourites. (as my friends continue telling me Raichu is better than Pikachu with the stats and such :P) Your also right about the friendlier atmosphere here and i`m sure you'll enjoy yourself here with your battling. Ha very clever ending there i thought it was very well thought out :P Anyways hope you enjoy yourself here, hope you enjoy your battles and hope to see you around! :)

Oh good, another person who enjoys battling! Since you've been lurking I'm sure you've seen the Competitive Battling Center, yeah? Because if you haven't, well, even if you have, go post there and maybe hang out on PC's Pokemon Online server (which you'll see the announcement of @ CBC which is... in red, lol). Or if not maybe rate some teams? Since even if you don't play entirely competitively, you might enjoy rating teams if you have the knowledge! OR post your own RMT and we can rate it, whichever works tbh. But yeah, we're a lot better than Smogon imo from what I've heard/seen although people here can be pretty competitive at times, so. yeah ;x

Either way, have fun around here, hopefully you spend lots of time at that section and if you have any questions, feel free to ask any of us with bold usernames!

Welcome to the forums, Nathan! I think I'm more of a playing-for-fun guy - I don't really care for competitive stuff tbh about it. I do stuff just because I can. :) There's always the fun in doing things your own way, and it feels great not having to bother with stricter requirements when it comes to battling.

I don't think I have ever attempted chaining - all of my personally-gained shinies are all random-generated.

I do hope that you'll stick around! Give Pokémon Clubs a try someday!

It's our pleasure to have you around actually, welcome to the forums, Nathan! I'm also an old school gamer, I actually prefer the old games than the latest releases but I am not completely saying that I don't like the latest releases, of course I do! PC isn't also the first forum I joined to but it's the first Pokemon forum that I joined in, and coming from me. I can guarantee to you that you will have lots of fun here so no worries okaaaay? :P

I'm not that competitive but I do enjoy battling that I go to PC's very own server in PO. Having someone like you here in our place whose really knowledgeable about the old games is very exciting, you know I was a kid back then so I'm not really taking battling as my main priority over the game and learning all of the things which must be learned and all, so yeah! I'm sure you've already been to the Competitive Battling Center which is great. You can drop by PC's Adoption Center if you want someone to guide you over that board. You can find the Adoption Center in this very section, looking forward to see you signing up! <3

Besides the CBC you can try checking out the other things that PC offers. I'm sure you will enjoy most of 'em! If you need any help or if you have any questions, just ask us with bold usernames! We don't bite and we love helping out. Whilst if you want to talk, you can drop by my profile & leave a message!

Other than that, make sure to follow the rules as always and have lots of fun here. :D

Hey Nathan, I'm also new to this forum! I totally agree with what you're saying, it's great to have competitive battles, but some people can get a little too into it and it ruins it. It's nice to see someone who thinks the same.

Would love to battle or talk sometime. :)

Loving here more than Smogon (not to slate it, of course) already, based on the vibes and replies I've gotten. It means a lot you've all taken the time to write something original as opposed to a generic message, and I'm gonna spend a couple of hours around now.

I'll be sure to follow the rules. Just leave me a message if you want Oweena, and I'm sure we can sort a battle out sometime!

Hi Nathan, nice name you have.

I see you should check out our Pokemon game-based sections, Black and White and Fourth Generation Games are a must!

There's also the Advanced Generation Games as well as the Metal and Color Generation Games if you wanna go old-school.

Pokemon General is another area you should check out, as well as Pokemon Clubs for our many Pokemon-based fanclubs. Also, check out Pokemon Trivia to test your Pokemon knowledge.

In fact, we are not only restricted to Pokemon, we have some non-Pokemon sections too.

    Here's my bio:
    Spoiler:

Yes, I am famous at PC for a meme about a certain cute Oshawott, here's the meme:
    Spoiler:

His name was like totally random and it was the nickname of an Oshawott I previously had on Global Pokedex Plus. Don't try to think the origin of this Oshawott's nickname though.

Contact any moderator if you have questions, plus it's important to read the rules!

Just remember to be careful and have fun! (Hopefully, you might rack up a friendlist as big as mine)
