As a fellow 90s kid, I'll never forget opening up that first Gameboy and I've never looked back! I am relatively new to fan games (roms), but after looking into it, I simply had to join this community.
I haven't used forums for a while, so, I may be a bit wobbly on my feet, so bare with me! =^_^=

Oh man, you're OG OG! Yeah, I'll always remember that Christmas present of that big Costco pack of the gbc, yellow version AND the r/b/y manual. Best Xmas of my life still! And no, I haven't, but I am very interested, the creativity that people put into them is mind blowing!

Actually, if you don't mind, I would absolutely love some of your recommendations, as there are so many that I am a little lost! I appreciate it. =^_^=

No problem! Ah, a fan of the classics, nice! I'd say mine's Shield, followed by Crystal.

Oh, and by the time you'll have read this, I'll have merged your replies together, but all you need to do to respond to multiple people's posts at once is to hit the Reply button on all the posts you want to respond to beforehand. (it's sorta a forum guideline here, but it's good to know for other sections where multiple posts in a row can be frowned upon)

I can suggest Solar Light - Lunar Dark (with fakémon), Zeta / Omicron, Insurgence (both Pokémon and fakémon, my personal top favourite ^^). And if you are into top level battles, Reborn and Desolation (last one unfinished but on the work and already hours of content)! Reborn has lots of hairpulling puzzles, and Desolation, dozens of sidequests, but if needed, the developers provided many helpful guides! What I also like with these two last games is that they have real stories, plot twists, ... and great characters. And they also are among the very rare games who include a regular Pokémon as character in the story!

Man, my favorite(s) would have to be Raikou (I'll never forget when I was little playing silver and seeing Raikou for the first time in the wild right after releasing the three dogs, it blew my mind, and then he got away of course, which made it even more mysterious to my young mind lol)
And probably Alakazam, Dratini and Ampharos. There are some great designs for the later gens, I just grew up with the earlier gens. What about yourself?

I've played red, blue, yellow, silver, gold, crystal, soul silver/gold, sapphire, ruby, pkmn snap (hell yeah), stadium 1 and 2, red dungeon (forgot the exact name), pinball 😆, white and the alola (forgot the names, too, sorry 😅).
So, mostly the older ones, but mainly just because now that rent takes up so much $$, I can't really afford too many of the newer ones nowadays, but they look great!
How about you? ^_^

Raikou is pretty awesome! and Alazazam, Dratini and Ampharos are really cool picks as well!^^ and for me my favorite pokemon is Vaporeon! Spidops is a close second though!

RBY, Crystal VC, RSE, FRLG, DP, HGSS, Black, B2W2, XY, ORAS, Sun/Moon, USUM, LGE, SwSh, PLA, BDSP, Violet/Scarlet.
As for spinoffs I played New Pokemon Snap and I played, but never finished, a PMD game on the DS. Also played Stadium for the minigames on the N64 back in the day =3

How'd you like Snap? I assume you played the original one?
