So, anybody think it would be a good idea?
It's about time Nintendo made use out of the online shop they have, I know it would probably never happen and take forever to download etc, but I personally think it would be great if they made say a sevii island DLC, with more strong wild pokemon, trainers, and maybe a side-line story! :D

Anyways just wondered on all your opinions on this idea and what you would want as a DLC, if it ever became possible?

Umm, first of all, what is a DLC?!? Dunno what it could be... I assume you mean a add-on, where you download a patch onto heartgold/soulsilver. That, would be really nice, since the svii islands are something I missed, and would allow a new range of pokes to be captured.

Yeah downloadable content I think it stands for. :)
And yes new pokemon with higher levels, seeing as the levels were pretty weak in the
game, I would also want Team Rocket to appear, alot stronger, they were a pushover in HG/SS....

New areas in the game would be a no from Nintendo. It would probably end up costing them more to make the DLC than the increase in sales would bring.

It would be interesting, certainly... but do agree that it would most likely never happen. Stuff like that takes time and effort and wouldn't bring anything to Game Freak/Nintendo in much of money IMO - plus they typically do not do DLC stuff anyways. The most we'll likely ever see with Pokemon-related DLC would be the wifi event Pokemon/items.

I wouldn't even know what they could add on, to be honest.

Even if there were some golden ideas, it won't happen, since the new Pokemon is coming out. =[

And, when you look at it, the games are hardcoded into the cartridges. You cannot make changes to the files unless you leave extra space in there in the event that that would happen.
Pretty much this. The game's coding may not have the downloadable locations programmed within it.

As has been said, IMO the only DLC possible would be events and maybe special trainers that you'd battle in a pre-existing locale. With that said, if Nintendo wanted to redeem themselves and finally put my beloved Leaf-chan in the game and give her a team of powerhouses, I would certainly appreciate that kind of DLC (as long as it isn't some crap team).
