    Hi, the names Jason.
    Just bought Pokemon White 2 yesterday,haven't played pokemon since pearl and it was fire red before that. Transfered a couple of lv100's to pearl but im still very much a noob at the game in general. Hints and tips would be appreciated. I actually dont fully understand the wifi battles. Do I need a friend code of someone before I can battle them or can I just play against randoms? Thanks.
     
    Hi there Jason! Welcome aboard. To answer your question, you need a good wifi connection to use wifi. Both with friends or random are available, so if you want to battle with friends you'll need the pal pad, ut if you have wifi you can battle anyone randomly.

    Yes i have a decent wifi connection set up, but i have no friends irl that play pokemon, so i have no pal pad codes. How would I go about playing random battles via wifi?

    Hello Jason, and welcome.

    Nice to see you got back into the Pokemon games with White 2, I have played since the 3rd Generation, and I am almost about to play Black 2 & White 2 myself. Sadly, we don't have a Friend Code exchange thread here so the best place is in your signature, where everyone can see it.

    If you're looking for battles, you should check out our Battle Center forum, complete with a Pokemon Showdown server where you can battle fellow PC members, and chat a bit too. We also have other places you can check out too, so feel free to browse.

    Sorry Jason but I'm not familiar with battling through Wi-Fi. I hope someone answers your second question! :(

    It's an exciting time to get back to the games, though! As for hints and tips, I'm sure you'll get by just fine. There have been quite a few changes since Gen IV but it's still relatively easy to play the games, and I'm sure you'll know better by playing. Just in case you need help with the games though, there's always the Quick Questions sticky in B2W2 to answer all your questions. ;D Make sure you read the first post though, maybe it's more appropriate to ask the question elsewhere (like for help in team building)!

    So um, welcome to the forums! I hope you'll enjoy your stay here. I think it would be best if you keep a good source of knowledge in hand, like Bulbapedia or Serebii or PsyPokes and whatnot. Just so you can play the games smoothly. It might be a little difficult to get back into it, but I'm sure you'll pull through. I mean Google is a good tool to search for answers to general 'mon-related stuff, probably quicker to get info there than in a Quick Questions thread. ;) Also, if you need help around PC, please don't hesitate to contact a moderator of the section in question! They'll be glad to offer you assistance. :)
     
    To answer your second question, you go to the lady on the far right on the second floor of the Pokemon Center and she will ask you if you would like to do a random battle or trade.
