Hi! New to the forums, veteran of the Internet!

Hello there and welcome to the PC! If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

You're into ROMhacks? Neat! Do you have a favorite of the ones you've tried?

Just what it says on the tin. I've recently been getting into the romhack scene since I wanted something new to play and, well, I eventually found myself here! Hi!
Hello John, and welcome to the forums! Besides ROM hacks, have you tried fan games ? I could suggest some great ones!

Only two so far: Wally Quest and Scorched Silver. I really liked Scorched Silver for its story, but the nostalgia for Wally Quest was huge (seeing as it was based on ORAS, my favorite of the remakes) and you get to play the character I most wanted to see as Champion, too!

No. Is there a difference between hacks and fangames? As I said, I haven't really been deep in the scene yet. Even so, I'm always looking for more fun!

There is! ROM hacks are played through emulators and are modified versions from the official games.
Fan games are directly playable on computer, made with softwares like Pokémon Essential and RPG Maker, and feature original regions and maps. They can also have Fakémon!
I can suggest Solar Light - Lunar Dark, Zeta / Omicron, Insurgence (my favourite), and if you are into top level battles, Reborn (with hairpulling puzzles) and Desolation (not complete yet but already hours and hours of playing)!

Hiya John Masaki, welcome to PC!

What are your favorite Mother games? And what are your favorite Pokemon games?

It's nice to meet you.

Hi John! I'm Megan o/ -- welcome to the forums!

We have a loooooot of ROM hacks here in the forum. If you like, check out the ROM Hacks Showcase to where all the best ROM hacks are housed.

Have a great time here! Don't hesitate to give me a shout if you have questions.
Well, there goes the next year, lol. I'm sure I will have fun.

Mother 3, Earthbound then Beginnings in that specific order. Funny thing is, I actually learned of Earthbound through the original Smash Bros. Remember being surprised about this psychic kid who's a secret character and even back then, the internet provided answers and the rest is history.

As far as the Pokemon games go...Sun/Moon US/UM are my absolute favorites, followed by ORAS (this is why I got Wally Quest, lol). The gens after that I haven't gotten around to playing, but I do like Galar and Hisui a bit more than Paldea from what I've seen.

Basically, I want Pokémon games with actual story in them beyond "catch a horde of mons, beat gyms and overthrow local Champion, kick the butts of local evil teams". The story of Gladion and Lillie and their mother, and the Delta episode, as examples.

So the games with the best stories and lore are the ones I'm looking for. Especially the lore.
