Hey there! I'm new here and I've been playing since Blue version, my favorite pokemon is Ampharos :)

Aww Ampharos is adorable! :D I love him 'cause he's a sheep, haha. The Mareep family are really cute.. I almost always use them in my second generation game playthroughs.

So you've been playing for quite a long time, huh? Well, you share that in common with lots of people. :) We have all kinds of fans around the community, from people who have loved Pokemon since day one to newer fans. I'm not sure if you're a fan of electric types but if you are, why not consider joining the electric-type fanclub? It only re-opened recently so it would be cool if you joined and stuck with the group for a long while to come. Can see it grow and all that good stuff! You can look around at other clubs as well since there are many awesome Pokemon-related clubs open to check over there. There's also the awesome Fan Clubs & Groups board that serves as the section for all non-Pokemon clubs, so that's another possible suggestion for you.
So.. since you've been playing the Pokemon games for a while.. do you have a favorite game or region?! And what do you think of X and Y? I'm still on the edge of my seat from excitement and honestly cannot tell if I want October to come faster or not. If it comes faster, school will be here, but if it comes slower then X and Y will take longer too.. :( Finally getting 3D main series games is quite wonderful though, and if you're a fan I definitely recommend taking a look at the X & Y board to discuss the games with us. Lots to talk about and speculate over there, plus it seems like a lot of members return to discuss these games.
Outside the games, you can also delve into other Pokemon-related boards like Pokemon Anime or Trading Card Game, plus off-topic areas like Video Games and General Entertainment. It's all up to you in the end, so have fun and pleasure meeting you!

And you're like me! I've owned at least one game from every generation, although I lost my Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald copies :(

Ah yes, Ampharos. One of my fave Electric-types as well, and still a favorite since the 2nd Generation days. Like Cirno suggested, you should join the Electric-type club over in the Pokemon Clubs board. While you're there, take time to check out some other clubs since there's loads of good ones. And there's also Fan Clubs & Groups for the non-Pokemon clubs as well. Joining clubs can be a great way to make new friends so I bet you might enjoy it.
We also have the various Pokemon gaming boards, there's one covering every game out there. Are you excited for X & Y as well? The new Pokemon look pretty awesome, and I really want to start with Froakie when I get the games, he's really cute. The X & Y section here has some fun ongoing speculation you can contribute to, and I do hope you can get a 3DS so you can play them eventually.
