I've actually come across this forum before but I never joined until now so... hello! <:

I knew of Pokemon since I was a kid but only started playing on D/P/Pt (and even then they were roms.) My first legit game was Black and I'm just finishing my pokedex on Y. Even when I get OR I'll probably stick with Y just because I love the customization. ;v;

I figured this forum would be a neat place to meet people, make friends, and maybe even finish my pokedex. Everyone seems nice so far uvu​

I highly recommend you consider playing generation 1 as it's the best in my opinion. You can also check out some ROM hacks or sharpen your battling skills on PC's showdown server. I also wish you luck sticking with Y after you get OR :P. Feel free to contact me if you need help or just want to battle :).

Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum were pretty great games, actually; I've played-through Platinum version about three times in total, and have enjoyed each and every minute. The locations Sinnoh serves are great, and its story-line is also rather engaging. Yeah, character-customization in X and Y is a great feature; many of us have been wanting to see such a thing for a while in Pokémon games, and it's nice to see them finally introduce it!

Anyhow, it's nice to meet you, dear; I go by Peitharchia here, but if you wish, you are always free to call me Ashley. I hope you enjoy your stay here, and have fun hanging around. I must agree with chad gen 1 is definately one of the best gens and id recommend playing it (i played yellow)
But since u got a 3ds (obviously) OR is a great game too since i really love gen 3 and hoenn in general!
Yep this is definately a place to make friends everyone here is actually really friendly and nice ;)
The trade corner is prob the easiest way to complete ur pokedex through touch trades or whatever i never really felt like completing mine :p

X/Y did have quite nice customization options, and I think it's a shame they took those out of ORAS, although I can kinda understand the rationale behind it. Still, I'd recommend giving the Hoenn remakes a go if you get the chance! They're pretty faithful to the originals, but have some added extras that make them worth playing...plus they'll make it easier to finish your Y Pokedex! If you need help with that, I'd recommend checking out Trade Corner; you should be able to find anything you're missing and then some.

I love that Sylveon in your avatar there, such a cutie ain't it? And yeah as you can see I'm really late but never hurts to have more hellos I guess! Such a pleasure to meet you, Leuvu.

I think both OR/AS and X/Y are great games, but as you noticed they have their uniqueness in terms of features. You should still give OR/AS a go, even if you'll likely stick with X/Y as your main versions due to your preference towards the Kalos games' customization feature, but at the same time you miss out on the new OR/AS Mega Evolutions given they can't be patched into X/Y. I understand why you prefer the customization it because it was a feature so many players wanted in the games, but there is logical reasoning behind why it got cut in OR/AS, it was due to them being remakes and therefore having well-established protagonists while X/Y's are only like very new and not as iconic design-wise.
