Hi everyone! I'm Andrew and I've just spent a ridiculously long time exploring all the smilies available - c'mon, how brilliant are they?! :15:

I'm not really sure what to say here other than hi, and I'm new, and I'm a little bit lost amongst the total overload of information and posts and threads here but I'm sure I'll find my feet.

I pretty much grew up on Pokémon but only recently took it up again - the 40 hours of gameplay I've wracked up in two and a half days tells me I missed it, a lot! My last foray into the wonderful world of Pokémon was a 2D, two-toned adventure so I'm completely blown away by how well it's aged and modernised over the years. The graphics slay me, and I'm bowled over by the massive variety in Pokémon.

I've been catching up on what I've missed with Y and I am just about to invest in Omega Ruby (just a year late haha) although somewhat suitable since my last game played all those years was Ruby!

Anywho, I look forward to trying to get involved in the community, learning the swing of things and picking up the jargon (like what on earth is ROM hacking?-_-).

    Thanks for having me! :happy2:

Hey and welcome to PokeCommunity, Andrew; it's nice that you're so upbeat, there's a lot of optimistic people here. (They're too many of you asfghjkl)

Well PokeCommunity is very expansive and I can figure how you'd get confused by the nerd overload, but it doesn't take too long to get acquainted with the many sub-forums and threads we have here; there are threads and forums for everything, not just Pokemon but T.V. shows, movies, music, computers, et cetera et cetera! And omg yeah, Pokemon is overwelcoming to go from regular two-dimensions to that amazing X/Y Alpha Sapphire/Omega Ruby three-dimensional computerized junk, but hey, even Pokemon's gotta keep up with the timez. Also, in my opinion, you're never really late to invest in a good game

That's all I have to say. I hope you have a good time here and can stay and really assimilate into our community; there are plenty of people to talk to and befriend, including me, and well we're always happy to have new members!

There's simply no such thing as too much optimism, Aisu!

I'd say you're right though, never too late to invest! Think Pokémon has proven it's pretty timeless by now.

Glad to hear from a welcoming face (or whatever the digilated, pixelated, equivalent of that might be...?). Appreciate the reply :-)

Welcome to PC! I do think that Gen 6 improved on a lot of stuff and that the games have gotten really good in the past few years, especially OR/AS. It's really fun and I just like the Hoenn games as a whole so it's one of my favourites. Anyway, If you're feeling lost with all the boards on here then check out the Adoption Center thread and maybe sign up so someone could show you around the forum.

I hope you enjoy yourself around here! =3

Thanks, striderviper. I've been taking a look back at some of the previous generations I've missed out on, and I'm a bit sad to have missed Black and White; the starter Pokémon look brilliant! Nothing sells me on a game like a good starter :-P

I think I am getting there with the forums, buzzing in and out of threads and generally getting a good feel for it all! I'll be sure to ask for help if I need it - and it's great to know it's there!

40 hours in 2.5 days is a pretty insane amount. I'm addicted to Pokemon even now 16 years later but I don't think I can even do that! Just too much playtime too soon and I'd go crazy, lol. But then again.. you can't go wrong with Pokemon. ;3

Good to meet you and welcome, Andrew! Hope you've been liking PC so far. Seems like you're fitting in rather well already.

Hi there! I'm new too, but let's both have a good time on PokéCommunity! Err. That's it.
I'm sure we both will, we can be new together yay! Welcome to you too, and I hope you enjoy it :-)

    Thanks, Sheep!

It actually drove me to find this forum, I was all Pokémon-ed out so I thought I'd find something new to do while my poor Chesnaught gets a break haha - I definitiely couldn't do it again! I just totally immersed myself in it (what's a social life again?!) but hey, it is pretty addictive lol!

YO, WELCOME TO PC, ANDREW! HEYA!

Haha, you're mind will get overload if you don't take your time! xD Don't worry, I'm sure you'll catch up! The Pokemon Developers haven't made a move for a new game... yet, I think. You have time! Or you'll get really confused. x3 But yknow... it's really amazing, huh? Everything slowly going advanced! (I might not even catch up, lol)

If you've got questions which I know you will, please do not hesitate to ask any of us! (: If you need help, we'll be happy to lend a hand! There's lots of things to do so buckle up!

    Enjoy your stay here!

Thanks, I'll take it slooooow. Think being caught on the backfoot might be a good thing - I'll still be going strong when everyone has just about played the current games to death! ??????

Hey Andrew! Welcome to PC! Have a great time
I can relate as well, I got omega Ruby yesterday and been playing it too much, the last game I played was heart gold, and that blew me away from the improvements from gold.
Regardless have fun on our little forums, and trust me the smiles get really boring after a bit!

I'm in no doubt they will be but I have at lot more fun to have with them before I reach that point... :t155: reading that sentence makes me feel a little empty that they can bring me so much entertainment hahaha!

I'll have to get started on Omega Ruby and catch up, hope you're enjoying it so far!

Trust me it's great! It was great for me as a remake of a the gen 3 games, of which I played emerald, it was a good way to reintroduce myself to the series. Also ROM hacking is so crazy stuff so if you ever do dipp your toe in, make you to go to the Beginners lounge, or prepare to be scratching your head for hours

I've kinda of dipped in and out some of the forums and I'm already baffled, astounded and amazed by it all. Like really. I spend hours filling my Pokédex or maxxing my Pokémon while people are creating their own spin-offs! Absolutely in awe of that.

I think that mix of something old and something knew is great! What you know; just not as you know it.

And just to drop it in randomly, I'm from Scotland so we're practically neighbours!
