5th Gen Hiyappu, Baoppu & Yanappu Discussion (new water/fire type monkey)

A while ago there's a figure of that Pokemon, but that Pokemon wasn't confirmed back then: https://pokebeach.com/2010/07/toys-reveal-a-new-pokemon. Glad though that Pokemon is finally confirmed, though.

I actually thought Yanappu would be a bit chubbier than it is now due to the toy. Also, it's contradicting its Gluttony ability. XD; Looks cute, though.

Also it's ability reminds me of Gluttony of FMA, and bah I have Roy as my theme, crazy. D:

It's said that Acrobat in triple battles will allow Yanappu to hit a pokémon on the far side of it. Meaning, if Yanappu is in the middle it's battle move range is to hit the middle pokémon but with the move Acrobat, it will be able to hit a pokémon on the left or right side.

Yeah, its based on a tree, not broccoli. Im guessing an evolved form would have a bigger tree on its head or body, maybe like a combined torterra/slaking

I was thinking the same, it would be a giant Monkey with a tree that might shift to the back of it's body...

Cool! Acrobat looked like a pretty cool move too. I wonder if that move will have any novel effect outside of triple battles. Otherwise, it seems kind of situational. Seeing as how it looks like a quick move, I'm hoping priority.

Was there any confirmation on what type the move was?

I think its actually meant for it its placed on the right or left. The Middle can hit all five of the other Pokemon with their attacks. The right Pokemon can onlu hit the opposing (Left) Pokemon and the two in the Middle while the Left Pokemon can hit the Opposing (Right) Pokemon and the two in the middle. Acrobat extends the range to the Left Pokemon on yourside can hit the (Left) Pokemon on your opponent's side.

**I put (left) and (Right) because if you were the other trainer and I was using the Broccoli Monkey then the Pokemon in () would be from your point of view.**

Theres no confirmation of such, but seeing as it was super effective against Tsutaja, I'm guessing that it will be a Flying type move, much like Bounce.

It most likely is, as acrobats jump and fly around in the air :)
 
Yes I think it is a flying type move too. I was examining the broccoli monkey and it kinda looks starter quality, maybe it ju8st reminds me of Chimchar though. I really can't wait to see it's evo! It looks so cool as it is. (even though I hate broccoli)
 
i think kids are gonna love this pokemon (sarcasm)
i don't mind it, i just wish they had a monkey pokemon that actually made it into my top 10 (monkeys are my favorite animal)
that, or a good cat pokemon
 
I can see Yanappu being like Torterra with the tree/broccoli piece sitting on its head. Perhaps, it would be as small as Turtwig being a monkey and all, have a second evolution form as a medium size ape and the last be a gorilla with a large tree. I couldn't imagine it but who knows what Game Freak would come up with. XD;
