Hoaxes in Science world...

There are like thousands of hoaxes starting from Lusus Naturae to the piltdown chicken, sokal hoax and many more.....
Which are the hoaxes you stumbled upon or believed in? How you distinguished b/w hoax and real stuff at a early stage ( means it just outed in social media )?
As for me there are some of the hoax, one of them is world's end lol and other one is just a recent hoax stating cosmic rays will hit earth so throw mobile away from you LOOOOOOL XD

The way I distinguish b/w them is simple try to look for that info in a trusted site c: that's all but what about you?

At one point I believed global warming was a hoax, but while I do think there is some faking of evidence, I do believe global warming is occurring. And it looks like it is probably the result of humans. If it was natural, it should be slower as far as I know.

No, but they did go on to prove that many myths that did exist in the science world were either true as is or completely false. :)
