Before I answer the topic... why would you want annoy the hell out of a Houndoom in the first place?
 
Burning would suck. I likey not annoying Houndy.

To protect itself from evil. Like..if some mean Pokemon come it can butt it away. yay & yay. XD

Just for the looks :D seriously, I could not imagine Houndoom with Houndour's ears. They're just too puppy like for Houndoom.

well, i know they have to be used for something, or he would just have ears, may be they are used to protect its young from fighting and bug type pokemon(?) i dunno, all i do know is that they're used for somethin

I think they have two purposes. One is for rank in a pack. Whichever one has the longest horns is usually the leader of the pack. Another thing is that I don't think it'll be stabbing others, since they're curved backwards, but maybe they're used for duals against each other, like how rams do. They butt each other in a contest of strength. But outside the packs in battle, those power butts could really break a Pkmn's neck, couldn't it? O.o I'm just guessing...

I think I read your first reason somewhere o.O (Rank in a pack) and I do think that your second reason is logical.

Now then....

What do you think Houndoom's horns are used for?
1. The rank in a pack... simply because I believe I read that somewhere...
2. Intimidation, they help the aspect of it. Houndy's pretty scary...
