I'm really curious to know how Event Pokemon are actually distributed, I mean those you get in Real-life Events!

Is it on a first-come-first-served basis or does everyone who attends an Event get the Pokemon (don't think so)? Do you have to show the Nintendo guys your game? Do you have to pay something or get them for free (maybe not)? What exactly is the procedure?

Has anyone attended a Pokemon Event & actually got an Event Pokemon?

It's actually really simple, and the method of obtaining an event Pokemon differs from what type of event it is, and where you live. If it's a Wi-Fi event, then you can get the Pokemon through Mystery Gift and the internet, right from your house. If you need a code, then you can find it through either the official Pokemon website or going to your local game store, (such as Game Stop) and receiving the code from there. Now, the last method, as well as my favorite method, is going to wherever the event is being held at, turn your game on, and go to mystery gift and select the wireless event option. Places that sometimes do this can include Game Stop and Toys R' Us. I hear in Japan, they usually go to these places called Pokemon Centers and receive their event Pokemon from there. So, it's all a matter of where you live and which event it is.

From what I understand, Nintendo hosts/sponsors parties usually in conjunction with a movie release or a new game. They have used a link-cable or physical reception via e-Card in the past. When wireless communications were introduced they had a Wonder Spot (think of free Wi-Fi at Starbucks) at the location and you'd use the Mystery Gift option to receive the event Pokemon.

I've never been to an actual event, but I bet it's be pretty nice to actually go. I usually just grab the Mystery Gifts whenever I can.

I never obtained any event Pokemon but event distributions here in Australia tend to be the typical Mystery Gift (which the rest of the world will likely get at the same time) or there's codes or whatever handed out to customers at EB Games stores which is pretty much our counterpart to Gamestop in the US.

I got some event Regigigas for Pokemon Pearl from Toys R Us on March 21, 2009. I don't remember much about it, I only went because it meant I got to have a sleepover at my friend's house first. I remember going up to the counter and doing something and then I had a Regigigas.

It knew Iron Head, Rock Slide, Icy Wind, and Crush Grip. It was Lv. 100. I didn't use it in a single battle until October 8, 2012 when I used it to beat the Elite Four for the 27th time.

That was the only event I've ever attended. I've always felt strange going to events, but that might just be me being shy around people.
