How come Ash doesnt catch more Pokemon?

You know every pokemon fan has asked this, and all I can say is because he doesn't have the financial ability to buy the pokeballs for more pokemon. The recession must suck even in the pokemon world. lol

Maybe he wants to focus on the ones he has? I'm not too sure. :/

^ What do you mean by "misconception"? It was proper advertising on the part of 4Kids for the games where it was still feasible to catch every Pokémon.

By anime standards, even catching 150 pokemon is a bit extreme. No trainer in the anime other than probably Gary has that many pokemon and has no intention or any need for catching that many pokemon. Its feasible to catch 150 in the games but not in the anime, especially certain legendaries.

I can understand that catching every pokemon just to catch them is a bit extreme especially when there are so many. However, Ash has come across some really strong Pokemon, not including every legendary ever, yet he barely makes an attempt to catch those. As a pokemon fan that can be tough to watch.

That's what I said. 4Kids was advertising that to promote the games.

I also wish Ash would catch more Pokemon, he has never had a steel or dark type but he has ran across a few that were catchable and wild like that Steelix in the Steel valley would have been a nice addition to his team. I like ash's Pokemon in all but it would be nice if he had a variety to call upon when the going gets tough, instead of using the same Pokemon in his party over and over.

^ Considering that he has about twelve of the however the hell amount of types there are, he seems pretty well covered without those types of Pokémon. Not taking into account specific attacks of course.
