Question: How come I cant post my hack?

I tried to post my hack 5 days ago. But they never did. It just said "It will not be shown until a moderator approves it." How come the moderaters dont tell you if they approve a thread or not? (BTW I tried to post this in Sideshow Showcase cuz its not a major hack)

Hi! I am SoopahScizor! Instead of explaining a HUGE amount of stuff, I'll just tel what this hack is about. It's called Pokemon Legendary Version. As crazy as it might sound, I'm serious. Your starter is Mew. Your rival's is Celebi. Easy enough? WRONG!!! Here's the catch. YOU CANT CATCH ANY POKEMON!! You can only obtain 5 other Pokemon. Moltres, Articuno, Zapdos, Dratini, and Mewtwo. Of course, as this is my first hack, I will need to learn how to mod a game.

Well, I know they told me when I asked them about it...

...once when it was rejected, once when it was accepted. Maybe they just haven't gotten around to it yet.

It usually takes about 24 hours for a ROM hacking moderator to approve the thread. If after 24 hours and your thread hasn't been approved, you can PM one of the mods to see why it hasn't been approved. They'll be happy to tell you what things need to be added, etc. ;)

The only one who was harsh was me. I expect you should understand why exactly I worded my post the way I did after reviewing your thread myself. I'm not involved with the ROM Hacking community, and I was turned off by it. You don't have a plot, you don't have any pictures to show, and you don't have anything to show that this hasn't been a thread that was simply inspired by the thought of creating your own hack. We have standards here, you know.

I'm not usually the strict or blunt one, but, really - it's rather ridiculous of you to think that your thread was going to be up to par with the communities standard if you had read the rules and looked around for more than five seconds.

Like I said, I made it as soon as I joined. BTW I came up with the idea 10 minutes before I made this post so yeah. I didnt even have a ROM yet. But noe I am done and I have pictures and a plot!

Honestly, I have half a mind to infract you for coming on here and posting a thread without reading the rules and crying that you're new and didn't know. Just because you're new doesn't grant you temporary status above the rules.

But I looked at the thread that you claim is different, and found that the thread I quoted above was the thread that you did differently. The difference was that you added the fact that you didn't have any movies and the expected release date. I see no photos, I see no plot... Do you know what a plot is? Because telling us our starter is Mew and our rival is Celebi - however crazy that may sound to you - is not a plot.

My suggestions? Go over to the Fanfiction forum and read up on some fan fiction, read some stories in Other Writing, and maybe try out your own back story and get some reviews from that. Flesh that out, and then try at the plot again. A plot is more than telling us what starer we have, and if you have pictures I certainly don't see them posted inside the direct text you placed in the thread. There are plenty of sites out there to help you create a plot; and the reason I'm focusing on that with this suggestion is because nobody wants to play a game with just different starters. Your game would have absolutely nothing unique and exciting to offer without a plot.

I have downloaded the hack and found a problem straight away.
The grass in the town can be made so no encounters of wild Pokémon come up.
This makes the game glitch as you have no Pokémon to use in battle

i have some more which i have print screened and i can e-mail them to you too
only if you want my help that is

also, an idea would have been to give the Pokémon away like on yellow so mewtwo doesn't suddenly change to celebi

also i believe the purpose of legendary Pokémon is that its rarely found and at a higher lvl when your close to the elite 4.
and maybe have them show up less frequently than the other normal Pokémon?

Well, I think the thread is getting out of hand, you can discuss that via PM.

Next time you want to know why your thread hasn't been approved, PM the area mod. It will be quicker and cleaner.
