How did you get into anime and/or manga?

When they first aired Pokemon I became addicted but I had absolutely no idea it was anime. So after a while I found out it was and learned of other shows just like it and soon enough I was watching Dragonball Z, Hamtaro, CCS and others. As for manga I'm not really into it but from time to time I read the BLEACH manga as well as the Naruto manga.

Hm, well... when one of my friends introduced me to Pokemon, I loved it.
And then... after a while, Rainfall introduced me to Naruto. I hated it at first, and I said "I will never like anything Naruto related. Ever." I especially hated Itachi... just because she talked about him most. But somehow... I fell in love with him... I dunno how, but it happened. I read the manga and I might start to watch the episodes.

My first anime was Pokemon, but I only saw it when I rented the videos. A few years later, when I got a computer(and YouTube), I began watching the series online. ^^

But when YouTube & Google got married, Pokemon videos were deleted. Which is in part what led me to move on to different anime series. My first one to get hooked on was Bleach, followed by Fullmetal Alchemist & Shaman King.

And on the present day, I have lost count, XD. But I still hunt for the Pokemon videos, as I am currently up to the early Advanced Generation episodes. >>

I think it was Inu Yasha that fully got me into anime/manga. When I was webdesigning, full time, I made a lot of Inu Yasha graphics, although I had never seen the anime or read the manga. I soon got into it, watching the anime each week and I even bought a couple volumes of the manga. Then, I just broadened my horizons in anime and I was really obsessed with a couple of years.

I've slightly grown out of anime since then, but I'm in the middle of watching Death Note anime and reading the manga, and I'm slowly becoming more and more interested in anime again. :3

Rurouni Kenshin is what did it for me, before then I just thought everything that was animated were just cartoons and I treated it all the same. This though had a lot about Japanese history and I got more into Japan as a whole and that's when I learned about less mainstream anime and I fell in love with it. I still think Rurouni Kenshin is one of the best animes I've seen but some of that is definitely nostalgia.

Waking up at 6:00 a.m. every Mon.-Fri. to catch the latest episode of Sailor Moon. Always the highlight of my morning. Let's just say I became hooked. :)

Also, my local comic shop rented out videos of shows like Ranma 1/2, Magic Knight Rayearth, and The Slayers so I would grab a tape to watch over the weekend. Good stuff.

I think for me it was Digimon. I started watching it as a 1st grader when Season 1 was airing. I still love that show...
